Tycoon 316L is the result of an embryo flush mating with Red SSS Tycoon and our Red Poplar Grove Dalles 183B which turned out to be great mating. He’s dark red, with lots of natural thickness, long bodied and correct confirmation and plenty of testicle size. I don’t believe we’ve ever raised a calf with such explosive growth before. Dalles 183B is probably the thickest cow we’ve ever raised here at the farm and has done a great job of passing it on in this mating to her bull calves and the heifer calves as well. Poplar Grove would like to reserve the right to draw farm use semen on 316L at our expense and the new owners convenience.

The only black Bronc son to be in the sale this year is definitely a calving ease bull that you won’t have to worry about at calving time. He isn’t the biggest bull in the pen but worth a look for your heifers. His Dam (BSM 143J) is a red first calf heifer with a fantastic cow family behind her. The grand dam of this bull is BSM 838F and she is a perfect cow in a moderate frame size, extremely deep bodied with lots of milk, we will keep every female we can get from 838F and are currently looking for the right sire for an embryo flush as she never disappoints us. This was the first calf born from the Bronc bull and he’s been a pleasant surprise right from the start with his 70lb birthweight and being from two black/ red carrier parents his colour was a little surprising for us as well when he was born. He’s got a great disposition and has grown as good or better than we could have expected without any creep feed and pasture that wasn’t real plentiful last summer. He’s out of a first calf heifer (BSM 144J) that is shaping up to be a great cow at our farm, with good udder shape and standing on a sound foot and good temperament. Recommended for

The calves from Select 34H to date have been very correct and we believe that the bulls offered from him will make some excellent replacements as well. All Star is the result of an embryo flush mating between Dwajo All Star 41X and our Red Poplar Grove Lodi 65S cow from many years ago, a fertile cow with very productive embryo flushes. She was an all round great cow with a moderate frame, great udder and feet. The All Star 41X calves never seem to disappoint us, he has left many females behind at our farm and at Blueberry Ridge most of which have become top producers. Recommended for heifers.

Hello and Welcome, to the Deep Roots Online Bull Sale. We are so excited to be joining our good friends at Poplar Grove Angus and Maple Lane Stock Farm in our first official bull sale. We appreciate the opportunity to sell what we believe to be our top producing bull calves with the fine foundation breeding at Poplar Grove. Our angus herd started back in 2012 when we bought our first red angus heifer, Star, as Laura’s 4H project. She grew quick to her name and became an excellent cow who produced impressive calves year after year, she had many successes in her 4H career. Currently we run 25 purebred angus cows and 75 commercial cows with strong angus influence. We only keep the best of the best in our pens and strive each and every year to create strong genetics to add to our own herd or to sell to other growing herds. Since day one this bull has been the powerhouse of the pen, and his weights show it. His dam, Blueberry Ridge Dixie 2D is a beautiful cow with lots of body and a perfect udder. She worked hard to produce this eye-catching bull with lots of natural muscling. The sire, Red DWAJO Peterbilt 20H, was one of our Red Angus herd sires purchased from DWAJO Angus, who carried lots of muscling himself. This red carrier bull would be great addition for both heifers and cows for ease of calving but with great growth.

This guy hasn’t stopped growing since the day he hit the ground at 89lbs. This was our first year of using Bravo and we were not disappointed with this cross. We purchased his dam, BSM 250E, aka “Edna”, from Poplar Grove Red Angus as a heifer calf and we have all of her female offspring working in our herd. Luke has a solid foundation for both conformation and disposition. He would be a great asset to use as a red carrier cow bull.

MAPLE LANE STOCK FARM
While it may seem that Maple Lane is just getting started in the cattle industry, there really is a long history. I myself, Craig, grew up on a cattle farm raising commercial and Purebred Maine Anjou with my parents, Brian & Sharon, and my 2 brothers. Brian & Sharon’s, Rapid Creek Ranch, has been raising Maine Anjou since 1973, my parents bought 4 females bred to a Maine Anjou bull to get their start. I participated in 4-H in the early to mid ‘80’s always showing a Maine Influence steer and Purebred females. Fast forward to 1994, when I married my wife, Deonne. We moved out to the original Brown homestead that fall, purchased a few of our own cattle and farmed with my parents. Deonne started a salon in 1998 and is still currently operating that business located on our farm. In the fall of 2002, we sold the cattle to Mom & Dad and started an Instrumentation and Electrical company in the oilfield industry. We ran that company until we sold out in 2007 to an aggressive upstart company where I transitioned into a management role for the next 9 years. It was while working there that we got the urge to get back into the cattle industry. In 2014, we bought 2 small herd dispersals and were officially back in the game. When our kids, Karleigh and Aiden were going through 4-H we helped show Maines for Brian & Sharon for a few years. It was in 2018 when we were introduced to Speckle Park where the Canadian breed’s carcass quality was winning awards and the calving vigor was making a name for itself. The females are excellent mothers and very feed efficient. That is when Maple Lane Stock Farm became an entity in the fall of 2020, we got seriously into the purebred business with entering their first shows with the Speckle Park. In 2023, we had the honor of taking over Mom & Dad’s Rapid Creek Ranch, Maine Anjou program. In 2023 they celebrated their 50th year of breeding Maine Anjou. They developed females to have beautiful udders, exceptional feet, and frames that carry these animals for longevity. We have since added the Maine Anjou animals to our show string and have had them on the road the last 2 years. In January of 2024, I left my job in Ag Sales, to follow my passion of raising the best possible breeding stock for both purebred breeders and commercial cattlemen alike. We continue to be a distributor for Promold Marketing where we supply solar water systems, cattle shelters, windbreaks, among an extensive line of other Ag products. People ask why we are focused on both of these breeds. There are so many positives that both of these breeds have that can influence the result of any crossbreeding program. Both breeds have excellent mothering ability, superb hair coats, feed efficiency, and calving vigor. Although we have no Speckle Park bulls on offer this year, we strive to build the right kind to have for your selection in 2025. The bulls are fed free choice hay and a 14% Bull Ration and are never pushed. We want to raise them for longevity to perform year after year. Although we have sold our bulls privately over the last few years, we would like to take this opportunity to offer our bulls and select females on the Farmgate timed auction. However, if you cannot make it to view the animals before sale time, please contact any of the above sale day numbers and we will find an animal that fits your needs and budget to the best of our ability. All information is kept confidential. Fertility All bulls are semen tested and the scrotal measurements are taken before sale day by a certified veterinarian and will be provided on sale day. Any bulls who are decision deffered will be noted and presented up front before sale time. Insurance Maple Lane Stock Farms, Poplar Grove Red Angus, and Blueberry Ridge Angus are not responsible for any injury or loss once the bull has been sold. We encourage all buyers to insure their bull upon purchase if they are remaining on the seller’s farm. In all cases the seller is not responsible for more than what the animal sold for. Delivery We are offering free delivery within 300 km of farm, anything over 300 km will require futher arrangemnets. We will hold the animals free of charge until April 15th, after such date the amount of $3.00/day will be charged until delivery or pick up is made. Any animals staying at the farms must be insured. If you pick up your animal within a week of sale day, we are offering $100 dollar refund of your animal purchased.

USA Purchases We will arrange all health testing and export papers at cost to the US buyers. Delivery arrangements will be coordinated to the US Border Vet closet to the purchaser. Bulls must be paid in full prior to shipping to the USA.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE DLMS FARM GATE TIMED AUCTION WITH EXTENDED BIDDING: 1.Visit dlms.ca and follow the link to the DLMS Farm Gate timed auction site www.farmgatetimedauctions.ca, click the LOGIN/REGISTRATION button. First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. This program will send you text and email messages whenever there is activity on your favorite lots or someone challenges your proxy bid and this is why you will be asked for both your current email and cell phone number. If you are a past participant in the Farm Gate Timed auctions simply enter your username and password to continue. This takes you to a list of both current and upcoming Farm Gate Auctions. 2. You can choose your favourite lots in this sale at this time and the program will allow you to open either all sale lots or just your favorite lots on your screen. Any time there is active bidding on a lot you have identified on your favorite list you will get a text and/or an email noting this activity. 3. The program allows you to place a proxy bid on any sale lot. This in fact protects your interest in any lot of interest for you to a specified dollar value you set, when you may not be able to give 100% attention to the sale. If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. 4. At closing time of the sale the entire sale will extend bidding if a bid is placed on any lot in the sale. Any bid received after close time will extend the sale by the time listed on each sale.
