elcome to Seattle! At the beginning of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series in 1998, we set out to create the next great race in the world. By pure luck, we created a themed event, and by pure luck, the face of the sport has changed. The sport of running has never been more inclusive of everybody’s aspirations as it is today. In 2018, we’re stepping up our game to deliver a best-in-class race experience for runners around the world. PIKE PLACE MARKET From the iconic market sign and Rachel the Piggy Bank to the gum wall, the original Starbucks café and well over 225 local craftspeople selling their products to the famous fish-tossing tradition and music playing street performers, there are enough sights and sounds at Pike Place Market to fill a full day (or more). With the addition of the new MarketFront in 2017, the market now offers more than ever before. Enjoy additional day stalls filled with artisans and their goods, an open-air plaza with panoramic views of the waterfront, and beautiful public art displays.

Space Needle & Chihuly Garden and Glass A bucket list item for many, the Space Needle is certainly Seattle’s most wellknown structure. At a height of 605 feet, it boasts breathtaking 360-degree views that showcase Mt. Rainier, Puget Sound, the Olympic and Cascade Mountains, the beautiful city of Seattle, and beyond.

Located just within the shadow of the Space Needle is Chihuly Garden and Glass, a museum celebrating world-renowned

MUSEUM OF POP CULTURE (MOPOP) Music, science fiction, and pop culture collide at the fascinating Museum of Pop Culture, founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen in 2000. This uniquely designed building sits just steps from the Space Needle and looks like a smashed guitar from above. Inside, its colorful, interactive exhibits cover everything from the history of indie video games and horror films to Nirvana, the Seahawks, MARVEL and more.

Located on the south end of the Wallingford neighborhood, Gas Works Park is arguably the city’s most unique park given its hilly topography, waterfront location, and the now iconic remains of a former coal plant.

Find a cozy spot near the water and enjoy a gorgeous view of the city skyline and Lake Union or, if you prefer to explore, the Burke Gilman Trail runs past the park, following the Burlington-Northern Railroad to Log Boom Park in Kenmore-a nice post race walk or bike ride for those looking to stretch their legs.
