Your update on the latest gear arriving in the tackle shops Sea angling manufacturers are starting to produce more and more EVA luggage which is tough, waterproof, lightweight, easy to clean, and won’t rot like some fabrics when exposed to a saltwater. Late last year, Tronixpro launched a full range of EVA-based products, developed to be a modular system, taking organisation to the next level.
BAGS There are four bags in the range. Three are made from the
same EVA waterproof material with welded seams, while the larger Rubber Bakkan is made from thicker EVA and has a hard plastic base. All bags feature the same two-way zip opening that can be fully opened for easy access. The zip sits underneath a lip for waterproofing, so any water that might ingress through the zip won’t get into the main compartment. The zips are made from toughened, strong plastic, so they won’t corrode when exposed to saltwater. All the handles and strap buckles are welded for strength and to further waterproof the bag. The largest bag is the Rubber Bakkan. This is rigid sided and ideal as a shore, boat or lure fishing bag. It has both handles and an adjustable strap, so you can either carry the bag by hand or across your shoulders. The two handles are lockable, so they are always ready to use if need be. ■ The Soft Bakkan is fractionally smaller and is semi-rigid in construction. Made from the EVA waterproof material featured on the Soft Cool Bag and the Mini Bakkan, it also has a clear lid and an over-the-shoulder carry strap; ideal for carrying tackle or as a bait bag. It can also be used as a live bait “tank” to keep sandeels alive and fresh while live bait fishing for bass and pollack.
