Short description of the organisation

The Office of Standards, Metrology and Testing of the Slovak Republic (ÚNMS SR) is the central state administration body dealing with technical standardisation, metrology, quality, conformity assessment and accreditation of conformity assessment bodies. The main activities of the ÚNMS SR also derive from its membership in European and international organisations. The ÚNMS SR develops the concept of national policy, conducts methodological activities and supervises the execution of tasks in the field of technical standardisation, metrology, quality, conformity assessment and accreditation of conformity assessment bodies. It prepares proposals for generally binding legislation within its scope.

Achievements and Good Practices Factors for success

Performance indicators are delineated within the framework of Quality Management System (QMS) implementation, adhering to the stipulations outlined by ISO9001 requirements. The quality manual is based on a processoriented approach that emphasises the results and achievements. This ensures that the organisation's efforts are aligned with the overall quality objectives, facilitating continuous improvement and accountability throughout the implementation process.

Thanks to the regular collection and analysis of data on products and services, the conceptual objectives of the organisation were reinforced and supported

By implementing data automatization, the first and pilot examples of which are automated data publication and automated booking of training courses, the organisation can improve efficiency, accuracy and overall productivity, thus facilitating smoother operations and improving the overall effectiveness of processes.

The proactive attitude and dedication of the clearly defined CAF team effectively inspired people throughout the organisation; staff from different hierarchical levels and spheres of responsibility voluntarily and fervently committed themselves to supporting the successful adoption of the CAF.

Thanks to the regular reviews conducted by the CAF team in collaboration with organisational leadership, the Improvement Action Plan has the capacity to transform itself into a strategic management tool, promoting continuous improvement within the organisation.
