Disclaimer: When considering the utilization of our family building benefits, it’s crucial to understand the associated tax implications. The tax treatment of these benefits hinges on whether you are the enrolled employee or a dependent covered under the plan, and whether the treatment/service qualifies as a “medical expense” under IRS Section 213(b). Given the intricacies of tax regulations and individual circumstances, we strongly recommend consulting with your personal tax advisor.

Andrew didn’t have as many expenses in 2025 as he anticipated, so he has money left in his HSA Here’s how it worked out:
2025 HSA contributions: $3,300
2025 HSA contributions: $1,000
2025 HSA contributions: $4,300 Paid out of the HSA in 2025: $871
balance for use in future years: $3,429
Andrew paid all of his out-of-pocket expenses through his HSA. He saved taxes on his $3,100 in contributions and, with FreedomCare’s contribution, he still has $3,429 in his account at the end of the year. That money stays in Andrew’s HSA, earning tax-free interest, so he can use it in future years - even if he leaves FreedomCare.

During Open Enrollment, or as a new hire, you elect the amount of money you wish to deposit into the Health Care and/or the Dependent Care Account for the entire year. The FSA benefit is effective January 1 to December 31.
The total amount is then equally divided by 26 (or the number of pay periods remaining in the year for new hires). That amount is deducted from each paycheck and set aside in your account.
As you incur eligible expenses, you can use your FSA debit card to pay for eligible health care expenses without submitting any paper claim forms. You can also pay for eligible health care expenses with a personal credit card or check and submit an online claim to receive reimbursement directly to your back account.
You can submit claims for reimbursement for eligible dependent care expenses after the services has been incurred and you have paid with a personal card or check.

Guardian’s Maximum Rollover is a dental insurance plan which allows you and your dependents to rollover a portion of your unused annual dental plan maximum into an individual Maximum Rollover Account (MRA) for future use. The MRA can be used in future years if a member reaches the plan’s annual maximum. If a member uses the services of preferred providers exclusively during the benefit year, Guardian will increase the amount credited to his or her MRA
To qualify, a member must have a paid claim (not just a visit) and must not have exceeded the paid claims threshold during the benefit year Each member’s MRA may not exceed the MRA limit
You and each of your insured dependents maintain separate MRAs based on their own claim activity You and your dependents can view their annual MRA statements online at www guardiananytime com

At FreedomCare, we match 100% of your contributions to your 401(k) account up to 3% of your earnings, and we will match 50% of any contributions above 3% to a maximum of 5% of your earnings.
This means if 3% of your salary = $1,000 and you contribute that amount, FreedomCare will contribute an additional $1,000 (yes, free money!). We offer three different plan options through Principal:
Through an employer-provided 401(k) account, you are able to contribute a portion of your pre-tax paycheck to a tax-deferred investments. This reduces the amount of income you must pay taxes on each year. Investments are taxed upon withdrawl
You make Roth 401(k) contributions with money that has already been taxed just as you would with a Roth individual retirement account (IRA). Any earnings then grow tax-free, and you pay no taxes when you start taking withdrawals in retirement.
We also offer a Non-Qualified Deferred Plan (NQDP) for those that are in need of deferring a greater percentage of their compensation
Effective January 1, 2025 - December 31, 2025
Contributions made from each paycheck toward your medical, dental, and vision benefit elections, as well as contributions to Health Savings Account and Flexible Spending Accounts, will automatically be deducted from your gross pay before Federal Income taxes and Social Security taxes are calculated. Since these contributions are deducted before your pay is taxed, your taxes will be based on a lower gross pay and you will end up paying lower taxes on the same salary. Contributions are made on a bi-weekly basis (26 pays per year).
