CHILD SWIM LESSONS Saturday Classes

PARENT & CHILD Parent & Infant

Ages 6-18 months. Parent(s) must participate in the water with the infant. This class teaches underwater acclimation while parents learn how to give their child a positive experience in the water. Parent & Toddler

No classes July 4.

10:35-11 a.m.

Ages 18-36 months. Parent must participate in the water with the toddler. Students continue developing water acclimation and safety skills. Children will have fun in the water while developing swimming readiness. PRESCHOOL 11-11:25 a.m. Preschool 1 3 to 5 year olds who are new to the water will develop comfort in the water, learn water entry, bubble blowing, floating, kicking, underwater exploration and general water safety skills. Preschool 2

11:30-11:55 a.m.

Prerequisite: Able to demonstrate completion requirements of Preschool 1. 3 to 5 year olds who are very comfortable in the water will learn new skills such as combined arm and leg action on front, treading with support and general water safety skills.

CHILDREN’S LEVELS 1-4 12-12:45 p.m. Level 1 Must be age 5 the first day of the program in order to participate and be comfortable away from parent. Objectives: Supported floating on front and back, gliding, kicking, and alternating arm and leg action. 12:50-1:35 p.m. Level 2 Objectives: Unsupported float, gliding, kicking on front and back without support, combined arm action with kick on front and back, treading water without support, personal safety and rescue skills. 1-1:45 p.m. Level 3 & 4 Prerequisite: Must be comfortable in lap pool and possess Level 2 swim skills. Objectives: Front crawl with breathing to the side, coordinated back crawl, elementary backstroke, scissor and dolphin kick, treading water skills, diving from the side of the pool and personal safety and rescue skills.

Must have completed Starter Paws prior to purchasing.

Personal training sessions include cardiovascular exercises, muscle strengthening and endurance exercises, and flexibility exercises. Nutrition consultation sessions include discussions about dietary habits and goals for nutritional intake based on individual nutritional needs and within the scope of practice of the nutrition practitioner. The Fitness Center reserves the right to make referrals out if client issues exceed the scope of available services or scope of practice of the practitioner. REFUNDS

Refunds will be given for sessions if there is a documented medical issue that precluded provision of 24 hours’ notice of the need to cancel or reschedule or if the scheduled sessions are returned to the session pool for administrative purposes. CARRYING SESSIONS FORWARD ONE SEMESTER

A maximum of 3 sessions (sessions, consultations, tests) may be carried forward for one semester (spring to summer; summer to fall; fall to spring). Sessions not used by the end of the second semester will be forfeited.

• Reservations can be made a week in advance and must be made in person. • Must pay in full at the time of reservation. • All rentals are based on a per day charge, no modifications to this rate will be made. • Reservation cancellations must be made at least one day in advance of the check-out date to receive a full refund minus a $5 handling fee. • A $1 per item per day late fee is charged in addition to the daily rental fee. Exception: Bikes are charged $20 per day. • Upon return, all tents will receive a full inspection. Pending the number of returns, inspection could take place within a week of return. • For equipment that needs to be repaired or cleaned, you will be charged $15/hour, up to original cost of the equipment. Fees associated to these costs will be assessed within a week of equipment return. • Failure to pay late fees or damages may result in a hold on your account or suspended rental privileges.

COLORADO NATIONAL PARKS MULTISPORT: CLIMB, HIKE, SWIM, & BACKPACK Saturday - Sunday | July 14-22, 2018 | $840, $940, $1040

Join us on this bucket list multisport adventure! Visit Great Sand Dunes National Park – the tallest sand dunes in North America, with snowcapped mountains in the background. There we will go on day hikes and swim in glacier lakes. Next, spend two days climbing at the Garden of the Gods, home to over 140 climbing routes. Our last stop will be in pristine Rocky Mountain National Park where we will backpack, climb, and hike to alpine waterfalls. We will be camping in the gorgeous Colorado mountain landscape in primitive sites throughout the trip.

DAKOTAS NATIONAL PARKS TOUR Saturday-Monday | July 28 - August 6, 2018 | $340,$390,$440 Discover, explore and enjoy the natural and manmade landscapes of the Dakotas in a whirlwind adventure road trip across the U.S. Enjoy hiking in Shawnee National Forest, Badlands National Park, Black Hills National Forest and Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Climb in Spearfish Canyon and experience kayaking at Lake Metigoshe State Park. Visit Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial and the International Peace Garden. Relax at the Akela Spa of Deadwood.

This trip will consist of primitive camping and last ten days, including travel time. BELAY CERTIFICATION CLINICS Includes belay skills, policies and procedures, and a written and practical test. Certification valid for one year. Register 24 hours in advance at the TTE front desk. For a certification renewal, you can demonstrate practical skills to the on-duty climbing supervisor at no cost. Experienced climbers may take the written and practical tests without the clinic. Certification is valid for one year. By appointment only. Challenge: $2, $4, $6

KIDS CLIMB

Children ages 8-18 may use the Climbing Wall when supervised and belayed by a certified parent, guardian or climbing wall staff.

BOULDERING CAVE

Experienced climbers may lead climb routes during normal hours. You must follow the designated lead route. Ask about a Lead Climbing Certification Clinic to certify or challenge out. You must prove significant belay experience before taking the Lead Climbing Clinic. Cost: $5, $8, $10

The cave has both vertical and horizontal overhanging terrain. Any skill level may use it in a “no ropes� bouldering format. It is located across from racquetball court #4 adjacent to the Climbing Wall. Check in with the Climbing Wall attendant.

Focus is on creative problem solving and effective communication. The experience will increase trust and enhance group cohesion. Programs are tailored to meet the needs of the group. LOCATION Sites vary depending the group’s preference. Groups may choose facilities and grounds from our challenge course at Indian Creek Recreation Area, the downtown campus or off-campus locations. RESERVATIONS Complete online reservation. Reserve date and make payment at least four weeks in advance. Confirm all details two weeks in advance. A minimum of a 10 person charge is required but larger or smaller groups are easily accommodated. Sessions may range from two hours, half-day or full day. PRICING* Students per person: Two-hour event is $8, half-day is $10, full day $30. Faculty or Staff per person: Two-hour event is $15, half-day is $20, full day $40. *deli-style lunch available for half and full day programs for an additional $5/person.

Individual rooms or the entire lodge may be reserved by chartered student organizations and faculty or staff departments for university approved meetings. The lodge has a large meeting room, two breakout rooms, an open lobby reception area with fireplace, decks with seating and a catering kitchen. If you would like to host your event outside, we also have available for reservation a half acre event lawn.
