Katherine High School Principal’s Update

Rivers

Show

Katherine High School has commenced the roll out of the Australian Curriculum for English and Mathematics. The School is well placed to meet all the requirements for the implementation of the Australian Curriculum but it does require an enormous effort from teachers to redevelop and rework programs so we are compliant with the Australian Curriculum. There are a number of new initiatives that are being considered for KHS, including the School Wide Positive Rewards Program which is being introduced by the Year Level Wellbeing Teams. Year 12s are fast approaching their final weeks of school life. I wish them a stress free finish to the year, their final assessments and their exams. Anne White Principal

Term Dates 2012-2013

This year our school will finish on Friday 14 December. Teachers will return to work on Tuesday 29 January but your children will not have to attend until Wednesday 30 January, 2013. Urban schools will have different starting dates. We have kept the traditional end and start dates as teachers need the extra time to travel to and from the community. If you have any questions please see the office staff. Further details: www.det.nt.gov.au

Katherine Show

Katherine High School won the Katherine Show Society School Aggregate Shield for 2012. Mrs. Suzanne Sinclair from the Katherine Show Society presented the Shield to the School at last week’s assembly. Thanks to all the students and staff who contributed to make this possible.
