Katherine High School Principal’s Update
It has been another busy term with many events and activities happening. Thank you to all the staff who have contributed to providing the many extracurricular activities over recent weeks. For Year 12 students the next few weeks will be very stressful, make sure you are organised and seek help if you feel that you are slipping behind. There are only a few weeks of classes left so keep focused. Success follows hard work. All the best to everyone for the remainder of the term. Anne White Principal
2012 ADFA Education Award Presentation
Year 12 students Matthew Bell and Harrison Dawes have both received awards for Outstanding Academic Achievement and leadership potential from ADFA. The award included both students receiving a laptop computer and a certificate; both boys have been offered positions with ADFA studying Aeronautical Engineering in Canberra in 2013. The awards were presented by Wing Commander Hinschen who arrived at the school by helicopter, landing on the school oval in front of the whole school population. Wing Commander Hinschen stated “to the best of the ADF’s knowledge, it is the first time that any school has had two recipients in the same year and that it is an amazing achievement by the boys.” Good luck to Matthew and Harrison in their future studies and careers with the ADFA.
Certificate 2 Sport & Recreation and Certificate 3 Fitness classes have been working hard on completing their course requirements. Congratulations to the students who have achieved qualifications.
