57 Bond St
57th Bond St, New York, NY Summer 2020
This project aims to develop a Community & Athletic Center. Focusing on the development of an Architectural Project with an emphasis on comprehensive building design: advanced site analysis and development, spatial relationships between interior and exterior, landscape integration, zoning and code analysis, programming, and fully integrated building systems.
With the knowledge that Bond St, NY’s frontage is continuous, this project dares to break the continuity. Being a space for everyone in the community, my goal was to make it as welcoming as possible. This was achieved with simple moves, like eroding the frontage and raising the corner to 48ft. The corner becomes a community garden.
The interior grand red staircase, placed towards the back of the building, makes the circulation clear from all entry points. The building include multiple basketball courts, workout spaces, rock climbing wall, offices, roof top garden and juice bar. The facade of the building shows off the program. The screen mimics the rock climbing wall which can clearly be seen from the outside.

62nd St, Little Haiti, Miami FL Spring 2021
After analyzing inequalities in the South Florida region my main area of concentration is the neighborhood of Little Haiti. The community is currently being gentrified. Forces that are changing the character of the neighborhood include 1. Location. 2. Higher elevation. 3. Opportunity Zone. 4. New developments. Instead of fighting the new developments like Magic City, can we use their influence to the benefit of the neighborhood? For this reason my thesis question becomes: With widespread gentrification, can Miami celebrate and acknowledge the historical and cultural significance of its marginalized neighborhoods through strengthening its urban fabric?
This project develops several vacant and abandoned lots of 62nd St into a cultural corridor. From the African American culture of model city, to the Haitian culture of Little Haiti, to the newly forming culture of Magic City the Innovation District. This is a an example of one of the five sites developed. The building aims to preserve the Haitian culture by providing performance and dining spot and addresses the lack of recreational green space with an open green space.

CROP Park + Fish Farm
Miami International Mall, Miami, FL Fall 2020
CROP studio proposes the adaptive reuse of the Miami International Mall building complex and adjacent “big box” facilities. The goal of the studio is to explore the possibilities of transforming the Miami International Mall into a self-sufficient community, an off-the-grid “village” with its own infrastructure where all services and needs are at walking distance. Where each building is a hybrid that house two or more programs simultaneously, an urban use on one side and an infrastructure on the other.
This project blends both the civil program of a Park and the infrastructure of program of Fish Farm/ Aquaponics. Residents of the newly developed community are able to use the space recreationally but it also functions as a source of food.
Inspiration stems from the existing structure being the middle of Miami International Mall. The project creates multilevel connections between the varying programs that surround it, just as its existing creates connection between the department stores. Though they now host green-roofs, the current entrances serve the same purpose in the project. The very center of the mall explodes to become a look out.

South Miami, FL Spring 2020
This project aims to develop a site with regards to the current surroundings in 2020, whilst thinking of how it will be used and impacted in the future, 2100. Future changes, such as; sea level rise, development of new technologies and change in program of surroundings, are to be taken into consideration.
This project was done in groups of two. Done with Angelique Rose. The project is Mixed Use with residential, commercial and office space. Through the simple process of cut and filling the architectural landscape, our design creates micro sound environments, allows building diversity with programatic interventions and unique impacts on the circulation by the sound changes a space. With the use of slight change in the topography and building interiors we test the question: Can buildings become eco-systems?

Green Division High Rise
Shibuya Tokyo, Japan Summer 2019
The aim of this project was to create a carbon neutral high-rise in Tokyo Japan. The Green Division High-rise is about the inclusion of green space and vertical urban farming within one building. The project makes use of a cantilevered structure to allow for open green spaces/ parks. The building’s program is divided by these parks and vertical urban farming. Program includes retail, office, hotel and residential.
An important component of this building is the vertical urban farming. In the high-rise, urban farming can be found on various levels. In some cases they take up the entire floor. In the case of the residential area, they are at the center of the apartment circulation. Every resident has access to this space, and can contribute to, as well as obtain food from these indoor farms. It becomes a communal farming space.
To achieve carbon neutrality the project makes use of Solar Panels on the West facade (which, after analysis, is where the sun hits the most in Tokyo), use of grey water, use of Low-E glass and louvered shading on the south amongst other things.

Savannah House
W Jones St & Bull St, Savannah GA Spring 2019
This project seeks to develop compact living in this middle infill urbanism. Micro-apartment buildings bring together different families and living situations under one roof.
The program includes; two-bedroom mini apartment, one-bedroom mini apartments, efficiency mini apartments and carriage house apartment, ground floor commercial and collective work area for residents, ground floor restrooms (1 ADA restroom) and a ground floor garden
Inspired by the Apartments in Katamaya (Matsunami Mitsutomo), with its narrow hallways and well organized tight living quaters, the block is divided into thirds with the circulation at the center. This makes for a symmertical plan. The facade breaks this rigour. Keeping with the long/ stretched out theme, fins were used. A moiré effect was created warping the fins.

Terminal 16
Port of Galveston, TX Professional | Bermello Ajamil & Partners | June 2024
This project for Port of Galveston in Texas transformed two existing warehouses, Pier 15 & Pier 16/18, into a new cruise ship terminal. The two were connected by a new structure housing the vertical circulation and VIP area.
The proposed contains all the essential components to covert the piers into a functional cruise ship terminal; Provisioning, Scanning & Sorting, Crew Area, Offices, Lobby, CheckIn, Security, Waiting Area, VIP lounge, Bag lay down, CBP (Customs and Boarder Protection), Garage & Surface Parking.
In putting together schematic, design development and construction documents demolition and new construction drawings were established. The project aimed for LEED Silver status. As a team member I assisted on all the above items. Full Architectural CD Set available upon request.
