Building a Stronger Community, Together.
As we enter the final quarter of the year, I am filled with gratitude for you — our members. You are the heart of the Boca Chamber, and through your dedication and support, we are able to fulfill our mission: to promote and sustain economic prosperity in Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County.
We carry out this mission through our four guiding pillars: Connecting Members, Advancing Commerce, Protecting Business, and Enhancing the Community. In this issue, we shine a spotlight on one of the most meaningful — Enhancing the Community.
Each August, we pledge to give back to our community through Boca Chamber Festival Days (BCFD). Now in its 48th year, this program has been a cornerstone of community collaboration, bringing together nonprofit and for-profit businesses to raise awareness and essential funds. Over the decades, BCFD has grown into a beloved series of events — from Bingo Brunch and Bowling for Bread to Battle of the Bartenders and Boca’s Got Talent — that not only create joy and connection but also provide critical support to local nonprofits. These achievements are made possible thanks to the generosity of our business partners, particularly our overall event sponsor, Allegiance Home Health, whose commitment to uplifting the community exemplifies the power of collaboration. Turn to page x to see this year's highlights.
"We are leading the region in building a stronger, more vibrant place where businesses thrive, students succeed, and our community remains the very best place to Live, Work, Learn, and Play."
Our nonprofit arm, the Golden Bell Education Foundation, continues to transform the lives of students and educators across the region. Since its founding 31 years ago, Golden Bell has invested over $2 million into classrooms, supporting thousands of students and preparing future leaders with critical business and career skills. This year alone, the Foundation distributed more than $112,000 in grants to 24 local public schools during our annual Golden Bell Membership Breakfast. Highlights from this inspiring event can be found on page 8.
Golden Bell also fuels innovation and entrepreneurship through the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!), where middle and high school students design, launch, and manage their own real businesses. Your belief in these students empowers them to dream bigger and achieve more. On page 9, you’ll meet the woman behind the program’s success — our Program Manager, Sherese James.
Turn to pages 12-13 for this issue’s cover story, as we feature Zoe Lanham, Vice President of The Addison, a landmark at the heart of Boca Raton since 1925. Zoe shares how stewarding this historic venue is both a privilege and a responsibility, blending its legacy with a deep commitment to philanthropy and community service. From championing local nonprofits to driving economic impact through more than 600 events annually, Zoe and The Addison exemplify what it means to lead the way in Enhancing the Community.
And, in Boynton Beach, the Chamber continues to set the standard for bringing business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members together. Through signature programs and networking experiences, we foster learning, collaboration, and meaningful connections that strengthen both businesses and the broader community.
Every success highlighted in this issue is possible because of you. Together, we are not just enhancing the community — we are leading the region in building a stronger, more vibrant place where businesses thrive, students succeed, and our community remains the very best place to Live, Work, Learn, and Play.
With deepest gratitude,

Shining a Light on Non-Profits
BOCA CHAMBER FESTIVAL DAYS 2025
The 48th Annual Boca Chamber Festival Days have come and gone, leaving our community inspired, connected, and energized—while celebrating and supporting the incredible work of local non-profit organizations.
This August, 23 incredible events showcased the creativity and dedication of 23 non-profit organizations. From long-standing favorites to exciting new experiences, there was truly something for everyone. Community members bowled, cheered on local talent, sipped at happy hours, dipped fondue for good, and even played pickleball for a purpose—just to name a few highlights.
Allegiance Home Health returned as our proud sponsor, with Rosie Inguanzo Martin leading as Chair. And, in true Festival Days spirit, our beloved flamingo mascot and friends “flocked” several Boca businesses, spreading joy, fun, and community connection throughout the month.
Boca Chamber Festival Days proved once again that when our community comes together, the result is unforgettable memories and lasting impact.
DRIVING POSITIVE CHANGE: THE PULSE COMMITTEE’S IMPACT ON OUR COMMUNITY
Last November, the Pulse Committee hosted its InPerson Speed Non-Profit Luncheon, bringing together passionate individuals eager to make a difference. This innovative event offered attendees a unique opportunity to engage with dynamic speakers from a variety of local non-profits, each sharing their mission, impact, and ways the community can contribute.
The luncheon was more than just a networking event—it was a catalyst for action. Nonprofits moved from table to table, giving the attendees firsthand insight into the challenges and triumphs of each organization, leaving everyone inspired to get involved. By connecting young professionals with purpose-driven organizations, the Pulse Committee is helping to accelerate meaningful change within the community.
Through initiatives like this, the Pulse Committee exemplifies the power of collaboration and community engagement. Together, we’re not just talking about change—we’re driving it faster.
Building on last year’s success, the Pulse Committee will return this November for a followup; “The Change Collective: 8 Non-Profits – 1 Event,” bringing together local organizations and community members to learn, connect, and drive meaningful change in our region.
BOYNTON BEACH, WHERE BUSINESS MEETS COMMUNITY
FUELING SMALL BUSINESS IN BOYNTON BEACH
There’s a special kind of energy that fills the room when entrepreneurs come together—ideas spark, partnerships form, and momentum builds. That energy was on full display at this year’s Small Business Summit, where our Boynton Beach Director, Jenifer Marquart, took the stage as a featured panelist for the "State of the Business Ecosystem" discussion.
Representing the Chamber, Jenifer shared her perspective on what fuels our region’s small business success—connection, collaboration, and community support. “When local businesses thrive, the whole community thrives,” she said, echoing a sentiment that resonates across South Palm Beach County.
As a proud Gold Sponsor of the Summit, the Chamber helped shine a light on the innovators and visionaries shaping Boynton Beach’s future. The event was more than just a conversation—it was a celebration of entrepreneurship, resilience, and the powerful network that helps small businesses reach their next level.
By connecting with entrepreneurs, sharing insights, and celebrating their achievements, the Chamber continues to ensure that Boynton Beach remains a place where businesses can grow, thrive, and succeed.
On any given month in Boynton Beach, you’ll find business leaders, entrepreneurs, and community members gathering—not just to network, but to learn, collaborate, and shape the future of the city. The Chamber of Commerce has created a rhythm of events that bring people together in meaningful ways.
At Business in Boynton, the Chamber's signature luncheon, local CEOs and industry experts take the stage. The room buzzes with conversation as business owners hear firsthand about the trends and opportunities shaping Boynton’s economy. Attendees often walk away with not just fresh insights, but also new partnerships that fuel growth.
Early mornings belong to Coffee Plus. Picture a comfortable atmosphere where professionals swap business cards, share ideas, and spark connections before the workday begins. For many, it’s the easiest way to plug into the Chamber and the community.
Government & Community Affairs provides another kind of access—a chance to sit face-to-face with policy makers and civic leaders. These conversations ensure that the voice of business is heard.
And then there’s the Women’s Business Exchange, where the energy shifts to empowerment. Here, women entrepreneurs and professionals gather around themes designed to inspire, offering each other both encouragement and actionable strategies to grow stronger in business and life.
These programs do more than build businesses—they weave a stronger, more connected Boynton Beach. Month after month, the Chamber’s events create moments where ideas are shared, voices are heard, and the community moves forward together.

INVESTING IN THE FUTURE: GOLDEN BELL AWARDS OVER $100K IN GRANTS TO LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS
On Thursday, September 11th, we held the Annual Golden Bell Membership Breakfast where we awarded our grants to deserving recipients. The Golden Bell Education Foundation awards grants to Boca Raton public schools for business skills and workforce readiness programs. For the 2024-2025 school year, we funded 43 grants to 24 schools, totaling over $112,000.
In addition to the business community and Chamber members, over 75 teachers, principals, and school board officials attended the breakfast. This breakfast is not only a chance for us to show the devotion of our Foundation, but it is truly an opportunity to bring our community together. We have donors, business partners, sponsors, and grant recipients all in one room. While the programs are usually about local businesses, this breakfast gives our business community the opportunity to hear from and think about our local schools in Boca Raton.
We were fortunate to hear from Superintendent Michael Burke about the latest in the district. He shared some impressive statistics with the crowd: Palm Beach County School District is an A-Rated School District by the FL Department of Education They boast a 96% graduation rate Choice Programs offer the opportunity for students to engage in intensive study in specific areas to discover their talents and explore their interests while focusing on academic rigor
The Golden Bell Education Foundation is proud to provide this platform for the school district and advocate for them on behalf of our local teachers and children.
We had the opportunity to hear about the impact of our grants first-hand from Luna Acosta and Samuel Alexis, two 5th grade students at Boca Raton Elementary School. Standing bravely in front of 300+ adults, they told us how the IXL Program has helped them not just read about science, but also learn about it through experiments; making it fun and interactive – all thanks to the Golden Bell Education Foundation grants their school has received!
"Because of your generosity, we're not just learning facts, we're becoming leaders, problem solvers, and creative thinkers. These are skills that will guide us for the rest of our lives." Luna said. While Samuel added, "You're helping us prepare for the future. Whether we become doctors, engineers, or something else, you're giving us the tools to follow our dreams."
The Annual Golden Bell Membership Breakfast was more than just an awards ceremony—it was a celebration of community, collaboration, and the future of Boca Raton’s students. By bringing together educators, business leaders, donors, and grant recipients, the Foundation not only showcases the impact of its programs but also strengthens the connection between local schools and the community that supports them. With grants fueling innovative programs and inspiring young learners like Luna and Samuel, the Golden Bell Education Foundation continues to empower the next generation with the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to thrive.
Together, we’re building a brighter future for Boca Raton—one student at a time.

MEET SHERESE: INSPIRING BOCA’S YOUNG
James, YEA! Program Manager
Tell us a little about yourself — where you’re from and what shaped you growing up?
I grew up in Tallahassee, FL. I was a bit of a "nerd" and my parents always encouraged me and supported me academically. I remember them taking me to the library every summer from elementary to middle school where I would check out over 40 books. I had to bring a big black bag to carry all the books! Looking back, I think it was the wildest thing for a kid to do, but it opened me to another world. I LOVED reading and learning about new things. I definitely don't read as many books now, but I still love learning about different things through articles, documentaries, or in-person with people.
You’ve been active in the community — what organizations, causes, or initiatives have you been involved in over the years?
When I first became involved in community work, it usually involved helping the homeless through a church initiative or children in a community program. Over time, I became more focused on helping teens and their families. It's been over 16 years since I realized my passion was to help teens and support their families in the process.
How have those past experiences influenced work you do today? I truly enjoy seeing teenagers grow and make decisions on their own to shape the rest of their lives. If I can help shape some of those decisions, I'm always grateful to be part of the process. I realized that working with teens affects the family in a different way than with elementary age children. It's a different type of relief for a parent to know someone wants to "wrangle" with their teen since some teen's attitudes may not always be the most pleasant. It excites me, so I'm up for the challenge! However, I have found that it's an age that desperately needs guidance. They are maturing into adults and need to be guided and loved the right way. What lessons have you learned from your YEA! students over the years?
That when you expose these kids to environments such as YEA!, be ready for some of them to want more involvement even after the program year has ended. I've also learned to be highly aware of the need for pacing. These are usually high achieving students who one would assume you can just throw information at them and expect tasks to be easily achieved. Not necessarily. They are involved with many other things along with academics and then a social life. Paying attention to that, I've learned to be very intentional in pacing them with our program. Our program is robust and they have to bring an idea from within their heads to life on paper and to the public. I want to make sure they not only understand the components, but enjoy the process too.
Where do you see YEA! headed in the next few years?
I hope to see YEA! become THE premier entrepreneurial program of the region. There are many other great entrepreneurship programs out there, but I don't see anything on this level. I want parents and students to talk about YEA! as if it's this incredible thing sitting on a hill for teens if they truly want to begin learning about entrepreneurship. I always knew I wanted to own a business, but I didn't get exposed to entrepreneurship until college at Florida International University, where I graduated with a minor in Entrepreneurship. I participated in their business plan competition with a partner and made it to the semi-finals, but, unfortunately, we didn't progress because of our financials. We had no real understanding of how to identify the appropriate costs for what we were doing. A program like YEA! would have benefitted me greatly if it were available when I was in high school. I would love to see YEA! be known across South Florida for being the best at preparing students to grow in their entrepreneurial journey.

100 Years of Giving & Gratitude
We interviewed Zoe Lanham, the Vice President of the Addison, to hear about their nonprofit initiatives, what it means to steward a property rooted in deep local history, and what kind of legacy they intend to leave behind.
The Addison has been a landmark in Boca Raton for 100 years. From your perspective, what makes it such a lasting pillar in our community?
The Addison has been at the center of the community since 1925, creating special moments and lasting memories for generations. As Boca Raton’s very first restaurant, it quickly became a gathering place, and over the years it has grown into a place where the community comes together to celebrate life’s most meaningful occasions. To me, preserving that legacy is just as important as creating new memories, which is why I serve as an active board member of the Boca Raton Historical Society. The Addison isn’t just a venue; it’s a living piece of our city’s history.
What does it mean to you personally to steward a property with such deep roots in Boca Raton’s history?
It is both a privilege and a tremendous responsibility. To lead a landmark like the Addison means honoring a legacy of excellence while ensuring its history is preserved for future generations. That responsibility motivates me every day to care deeply for this property and the role it plays in our community.
The Addison is well-known for its involvement with nonprofits and local causes. Can you share some of the partnerships or initiatives that you feel have had the most impact?
Philanthropy is at the heart of what we do. We’ve partnered with Boca Helping Hands for years, and during COVID we launched a hot meal program to deliver food to those most in need. We also support the George Snow Scholarship
Fund, helping enrich our community by investing in the future of our students and young professionals. Most recently, in honor of our Centennial, we launched the 100 Years, $100K Giving Initiative, gifting ten $10,000 events to nonprofits. Each of these efforts reflects our mission to use the Addison as a platform for giving back.
Why is it important for The Addison to be so engaged in philanthropy and community service?
Because we are at the center of the community. The people of Boca Raton support us, and in turn, we believe it’s our responsibility to support them. It’s a cycle of giving and gratitude that strengthens the bonds we all share.
Events at The Addison bring in not just local guests but also regional and even national visitors. How do you see The Addison contributing to the economic vitality of Boca Raton and South Palm Beach County?
A significant portion of our guests travel in from outside the area, which creates a ripple effect of support for local hotels, restaurants, and small businesses. With over 600 events hosted each year, the Addison not only fuels memories for our guests but also plays a vital role in sustaining our local economy and vendor community.
You’ve been very involved with the Chamber over the years. How has that relationship strengthened The Addison’s presence in the business community, supported your professional growth, and aligned with The Addison’s mission?
The mission of the Chamber aligns beautifully with the Addison’s own values. Through the Chamber, I’ve been able to grow as a leader, gaining mentorship and building relationships that have helped me better serve both our team and our community.
"The Addison isn’t just a venue; it’s a living piece of our city’s history."
On a personal note, what inspires you to keep showing up for the community — beyond your role at The Addison?
I’ve seen firsthand the impact poverty can have on families and the human spirit. Those experiences fuel my passion to help, to give a hand, and to make a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most. Showing up for the community isn’t just part of my role, it’s part of who I am.
Looking ahead, how do you envision The Addison continuing to play a role in both community engagement and economic development?
We will continue to provide meaningful jobs for our team, welcome guests who bring business to our city, and remain an iconic landmark that people love to visit. The Addison’s role goes beyond being a venue, it’s about being a catalyst for community growth and economic vitality while preserving the charm and legacy that make it unique.
What legacy do you hope to leave — both for The Addison and for your own community leadership journey?
For the Addison, I hope the legacy is one of accessibility, kindness, and professionalism. A place where everyone in the community feels welcome and celebrated. For myself, I want my legacy to be that I showed up with my whole heart, that I gave generously, and that I worked to make a lasting, positive difference in the lives of others.

SAVORING SUMMER, SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY
In September, The Chamber wrapped up its 2025 Summer Restaurant Road Show, a season-long celebration of local dining that brought residents and visitors together in support of South Palm Beach County restaurants. From Boca Raton to Boynton Beach to Deerfield Beach, the event turned the simple act of dining into a passport-style adventure, encouraging participants to explore new flavors, discover hidden gems, and connect with the community.
Participants grabbed their free “passports” and collected unique codes at local restaurants for dine-in, takeout, or gift card purchases. The more codes they collected, the greater their chances to win prizes — including a one- or twonight stay at a Chamber-member hotel. But the real reward? Supporting local restaurants and discovering hidden culinary gems across the region.
From casual brunch spots to fine dining, the Road Show highlighted the creativity, flavor, and resilience of South Palm Beach County’s culinary scene. More importantly, it connected neighbors, friends, and visitors over shared meals, showing how food can bring a community together.
The Summer Restaurant Road Show was more than just a dining adventure, it was a celebration of local business, community spirit, and the flavors that make our region thrive.
