There are roughly 7 million carers in the UK - that’s one in ten people. 3 in 5 people will be carers at some point in their lives, with L&G research showing that 1 in 7 employees have caring responsibilities as well as other commitments. For the Jollyes colleague population, some of us aren’t just pet parents; 1 in 7 of us are also likely to be caring for a loved one too. Whether it’s caring for someone in later life who needs additional support, or someone with disabilities or medical conditions.
That’s why we’ve partnered with Legal & General so you’ll get access to their ‘Care Concierge’ service. You’ll receive crucial information and support, designed for those caring for a loved one which can be an overwhelming experience.
There’s a free advice line number and web address, where you can get in touch with a care specialist, who offers a listening ear and will advise you of:
Benefits or government funding you may be entitled to claim for (or the person you’re caring for may be entitled to claim for).
Care providers in your area and the services they provide, with availability of services & costs.
Local authority services you might not be aware of (as they’re not usually publicised).
NHS services you might not be aware of (again, often not widely publicised).
This service is free to all Jollyes colleagues and their immediate family. Simply state that you’re a Jollyes employee when you make the first call to the helpline – this can be on behalf of another relative who needs the support and you can introduce them to continue the conversation, as long as you make that first introductory call.
We hope this free service will be of genuine help and support to colleagues in what can be a very difficult time. The People Team
