Felipe Hellmeister

Felipe Hellmeister •  Why was this taken in the snow? •  I think this photo was taken in the snow because it gives a really loneliness. If the photo was taken in the bright hot sun, I don’t think you would get the same feel. When its cold and dark the decaying bench and the burnt window really stands out but the sun would make it look happy and up liEing.

Edward Chambre

Edward Chambre •  Why was this photo taken at this angle? •  If the photo was taken face on you wouldn’t get the depth of field and would lose the urban effect because we wouldn’t know it was in a urban street. •  I really like this angle because it runs really well with the street and the windows on the houses.

Sindey Blake

Sindey Blake •  Why is this photo in black and white? •  The black and white really sets off the abandoned feel effect because it makes us think its old and scary. Without the black and white effect, I think the photo would have been bleak anyway. I like the photo because it has great compacSon where the door is placed perfectly in the middle.

Mind map Winter •  Take advantage of the snow. •  Wide landscapes with loads of trees and detail. •  Ice and frozen lakes. •  Have my camera on a high ISO so I can get high exposer. •  Long depth of field •  I will need a tri-‐pod to use a long shu#er speed (6 secs or more). •  LocaSon will be south wiled in brentwood. •  Maybe some winter animals.

Urban •  Famous urban places like London and the under ground. •  Brick lane. •  Black and white photos. •  Everyday urban life eg. Houses. •  Bmxing for a urban sport effect. •  Link the photos with my filled space project. •  Shadows.

Abandoned •  Eerie. •  Dark and spooky photos. •  Link to the decay project. •  I know many abandoned houses around Brentwood I can go to with friends.

The two photographers Paivi Valkonen

Pascal felloneau

The two photographers •  Both photos are focused on trees. But Paivi photo is really high edited in the colors unlike Pascal photo what is a raw un edited photo. They both have a strong depth of field what I like. If I had to pick a best photo I would pick pascal’s photo because of the low ediSng and it’s a good photo without all the blue ediSng like the other one. You could almost say paivi’s photo is like a painSng where it is so edited and you kinda get the feeling its no where near as stunning as in the pic unlike the other one what you know that the photo is exactly how that area looks in reel life. •  If I was going to do these photos again myself I would edit paivi’s photo at all and leave it as it was because the compotaSon of the tress and lake are brilliant but I feel Pascal’s photo would look amazing with high ediSng done to it.

Out of the many Stles I have chosen, my winter pictures are my best in my eyes. I was very lucky in fact I live by a massive park that has great views init and the fact it snowed was amazing! All of my photos were taken in raw and edited in photoshop. The photos didn’t need much ediSng because they were very bleak and almost a high black and white. I really wanted to focus on the detail in the tress and the compotaSon, I feel I done this very well and got the photos I set out for. My last photo coursed a debate between teachers because I feel the ground looks very good highly exposed with the dark tress but they thought otherwise and wanted me to bring back the detail in the snow. I took there advice and burned tooled the snow but I really wasn’t happy with this so I just stuck to my original photo. If I had to take my photos again I think I would try for other winter related themes such as winter animals or try and get people in them in there winter clothes, but apart from that I am very happy with this theme and would say there my best photos in my blurb book.

urban Â

EvaluaSon •

My urban photos were the easiest to get because of how close I live to London. My photos are a strange mix and I don’t feel they go together but I just felt these my my strongest photos so I just went for it. I’m most proud of my last photo in this set because I feel there is great compotaSon with the tunnel and the pla_orm with the man si`ng onit. I must admit I edited this photo highly by pu`ng a strong blue Snt over it and really blacking out the tunnel to cover up the on coming train. If I was going to do these photos again I would try and get them all to look relaSvely the same so I can put them all In a set together and would sSck with the blue Snt. There is a big gap between strong photos and not so good photos in this set and I feel this could effect my grade a tad. But in all of the photos I think I have brought across the urban theme strongly.

Filled Spaces

EvaluaSon •

The filled spaces theme was my hardest one out of the lot and tested my sills to the limit. To be honest I thought this would be easy but how wrong was I. I think it shows in my photos that I wasn’t to sure on what to do. I thought a football match would be amazing to get filled places and loads of people in one place. My best photo for this set is my last one because I like all the different faces of the fans cheering, there is so much going on in this photo and takes a good few mins to have a look around and take it all in. the black and white photos were taking in London and I feel these are weaker because I had to edit them quite a lot to make them look in focus and I feel there isnt much going on and to look at in them. If I was going to do this project again I would swap this Stle for another one so I can get higher quality pictures.
