Mind map of ideas •  Get loads of li7le cars and put them near big cars •  big house next to a lego one

Pierre javelle

I picked this person because I really like the way they used food and bikes. Pierre uses a lot of bright and good colours in his work. The depth of filed.

My work inspired by Pierre javelle

This photo turned out just how I wanted it to with a very shallow depth of filed. I was linking this photo to the photographer Pierre javelle. I chose him because I had a lot of li7le toys to use in my photo in this case lego men. The composiEon is un balances because my props are to the right side of the shot. Where they are placed to the right there is a lot of negaEve space on the leG that is out of focus. I shot this photo from a direct strait on angle and had to get close to the lego men. So this is a close up shot and if I was to do this photo again I may take it as a long shot or get the rest of the lego men in focus. I like this angle because it has the effect of making them look close to life size. The colouring in this photo is very dark and dim. I didn’t feel it need to be edited because ei feel if it was brighter it would take the depth of filed effect away from the photo.

Sian bonnell

Sian bonnell •  Sian works wit household objects. She works around her house and garden. I am a big fan of her work and the way she uses depth of filed in her work. Her photos are dark and look very gloomy what gives us this life like effect.

My work-‐ Sian bonnell

AGer looking at the work by sian bonnell I decided to produce my own interpretaEon of her work. I parEcularly like the use of colour and depth of field in her work. This shot has strong composiEon as the subject ma7er is centrally placed. If I was to reshoot this photo I would use a blank background to emphasize the importance of the subject. Like bonnell, I took this photo from a low view point. This Is a successful technique to alter the viewers percepEon of the scale. I deliberately made the background out of focus which has the same effect as having negaEve space in the background. The lighEng in this photo is natural what shows off the coulours and contrast. The decoraEon on the doughnuts are very bright and full of intricate details. If I was to put this photo in black and white it wouldn’t be as visually pleasing. Over all I am very pleased with this photo and I feel I have used the technique of depth of field in a successful way.
