Happy Republic Day
JAV SPECTRUM JANUARY 2023
Greetings to all of you!
Standing true to the motto of our school ‘Every child, every day, a leader’, JAV has been constantly finding avenues and ways through which we can make children in our charge ‘Better Every day’.
We believe that every student should be able to adapt to the global scenario that they would be a part of – the scenario that is in a constant state of flux – the scenario where change is the only constant. We need to train the wards in our charge to be steadfast in an ever changing environment, using their skill, their core competence and thinking out of the box to make sure their success is not a probability but a certainty.
Through various activities and programs, we will focus on building better children for the VUCA world which they will inhabit. This can be done by making them future-ready through skills which are participative, collaborative and innovative. This cannot be dispensed only within classroom walls through text books and tests, but gained and assimilated from experiential learning and living by embracing the ‘intangibles’ which will prepare them to face and welcome change.
From Principal's Desk
We, at JAV believe that instead of creating a better world for our children, why don’t we focus on building better children for the VUCA world which they will inhabit. This can be done by making them future-ready through skills which are participative, collaborative and innovative. This cannot be dispensed only within classroom walls through text books and tests, but gained and assimilated from experiential learning and living (which these students are experiencing in some way as of now when they try to learn using virtual platforms), by embracing the ‘intangibles’ which will prepare them to face and welcome change.Let’s join hands for better nurturing of our children!

Celebration: the act or occasion of doing something enjoyable because something good has happened or because it is a special day.
The new year is just around the corner and celebrations are pouring everywhere by the minute. As 2021 ends, people are gearing up to make new promises and beginnings for 2023. It is time to make new year's resolutions that will help people achieve their goals. The beginning of every year holds a lot of positivity and good energy and vibes. People celebrate this day by going out with their friends, family, and relatives. Many celebrations go into making this a truly memorable time and it is worth remembering!
There is a certain way to celebrate New Year and that is through parties and get-togethers. People love meeting up and getting together to celebrate different occasions. Many decorate a place while some get busy baking cookies and cakes for everyone.
Theme: CELEBRATION:
Every person has his or her way of celebrating this occasion and it is all unique. Long gone are the days when a memorable hand-made card did the trick at parties. Now it is all about bringing in gifts, champagne, and something precious to set the tone at New Year parties.
Makar Sankranti
Makar Sankranti is one festival that marks the end of the winter season and also commemorates the upcoming harvest season This year it is on January 15, 2023. This festival is celebrated with great fervor in North India and South India. Devotees pay homage to the Sun God, Surya, seeking his blessings for the harvest. People take a dip in holy rivers like Ganga, Godavari, and Yamuna as it is believed that this act washes away your sins and you will be blessed with a life full of prosperity and resources. Scrumptious meals are prepared and many fly kites.
Theme: CELEBRATION:
REPUBLIC DAY
Republic day is celebrated in that on 26th January every year. It honors the date on which the constitution has come into effect in the year 1950 and replaced the Government of India Act adopted by the Britishers.
This year will be the 74th Republic Day On 26th January 2023, the armed forces will honor the martyrs who fought for India’s independence. Celebrations include national flag hoisting like every year by the President of India on the Red Fort, Delhi, and the Republic Day parade. Indians all over the country will celebrate the day by attending cultural ceremonies or watching it on their Television. Schools and Colleges hoist the tricolour and hold cultural programs on Republic Day.

NEVER GIVE UP
Giving up What is the meaning of giving up? It is the worst thought in our mind that we can't do something, during difficult situations in our life. But my stand is “Never give up”. Do you know why? Because many of the youth in the current generation are giving up easily. I want to tell them all that if you want true success, come out of your comfort zone, face every problem of life, try to find solutions, and be a fighter. If you fail once, try again until you emerge victorious. Don't be scared of failure, because it is the first and most important step toward success Every failure teaches us lessons and paves the way to success. Failure is success if we learn from it
So, from now onwards come out of your shells as you cannot accomplish anything from your comfort zone. First of all belief in yourself, do hard work, and complete every task with dedication. Be passionate about your goals, don't give up easily and success will be yours.
If you can't fly, run If you can't run, walk If you can't walk, crawl But never give up. Ensure to do even the tiniest possible thing you can do for achieving your goal.
NEVER GIVE UP
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam said "Difficulties in your life do not come to destroy you but to help you, realize your hidden potential and power and let difficulties know that you too are difficult.
Our greatest weakness lies in "Giving Up", the most certain way to Succeed is always to try just one more time. One fine day you will reach your goal.
Thank you so much, have a great day.

Awareness Sessions
Changing our way, we grow each day!
Awareness sessions for grade VI to PUC II girl students were conducted in the school auditorium on the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 12th, and 13th of January 2023. The seminars were purposed to educate girl students covering areas where they would be facing challenges the most, to address adolescent issues, and also to help them in unlearning the things that were wrongly learned.
Topics like “puberty, menstrual cycle, knowing our body parts and proper terms used to address the same, body changes (physical, emotional and mental), teenage attraction, first crush, identity, self-concept, career, gender, and human sexuality” were covered each according to their age group. The curious minds of these growing beauties were so well displayed all through the sessions, as they interacted and communicated their thoughts and found answers to their unanswered questions, to quench their adolescent thirst. We educate to create and we wait to celebrate! Join me in witnessing the upcoming evolving colorful butterflies in their present metamorphic state each day.
Awareness Sessions
All the girls participated enthusiastically in the sessions and were educated, some active while some reserved, some bold while some shy, some verbal and some with their non verbal cues, some with the ‘I know it all’ and some with ‘Do I know it all’ expressions. All of them in their own way were lively, active and energetic in the sessions. Diverse group of young girls with their unique personalities and attitudes, all together beautiful just like the rainbow, were witnessed during these sessions conducted on the dates mentioned.

Assessment is the systematic basis for making inferences about the learning and development of students. It is the process of defining, selecting, designing, collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and using the information to increase students' learning and development.
Developing or Selecting Assessment Measures - designing or selecting data-gathering measures to assess whether or not our intended learning outcomes have been achieved. Includes Direct assessments - projects, products, papers/theses, exhibitions, performances, case studies, clinical evaluations, diagram drawing activities, portfolios, interviews, and oral exams - which ask students to demonstrate what they know or can do with their knowledge. In this regard for grade X students Biology diagram drawing activity was held by using colourful rangoli as SEA. Some of the glimpses of that activity are posted below.

They delved deep into the scientific structure of the eye and its functioning This prompted the students to learn about the structure, memorize and present the concepts in a precise and concise manner. The ability to accurately depict complex structures also meant the integration of art with biology. Lastly, this served as an effective tool for last-minute revision. The students who gave presentations also found an increased level of confidence both in public speaking and in the subject.
