JAV SPECTRUM DECEMBER 2022

Greetings to all of you!

Standing true to the motto of our school ‘Every child, every day, a leader’, JAV has been constantly finding avenues and ways through which we can make children in our charge ‘Better Every day’.

We believe that every student should be able to adapt to the global scenario that they would be a part of – the scenario that is in a constant state of flux – the scenario where change is the only constant. We need to train the wards in our charge to be steadfast in an ever changing environment, using their skill, their core competence and thinking out of the box to make sure their success is not a probability but a certainty.

Through various activities and programs, we will focus on building better children for the VUCA world which they will inhabit. This can be done by making them future-ready through skills which are participative, collaborative and innovative. This cannot be dispensed only within classroom walls through text books and tests, but gained and assimilated from experiential learning and living by embracing the ‘intangibles’ which will prepare them to face and welcome change.

From Principal's Desk

We, at JAV believe that instead of creating a better world for our children, why don’t we focus on building better children for the VUCA world which they will inhabit. This can be done by making them future-ready through skills which are participative, collaborative and innovative. This cannot be dispensed only within classroom walls through text books and tests, but gained and assimilated from experiential learning and living (which these students are experiencing in some way as of now when they try to learn using virtual platforms), by embracing the ‘intangibles’ which will prepare them to face and welcome change.Let’s join hands for better nurturing of our children!

Theme

Festivity: The celebration of something in a joyful and exuberant way.

It's a remarkable glory to state that our school had an annual day this month. We all were in the air of festivity on the 22nd of December where we all relished the festivity of our school.

The Management, Leaders, teachers, parents & especially students enjoyed it a lot & it was a unique extravaganza where we had the play enactment by our students. We had the theme, "The Sound of Music". So that we have made this month's newsletter theme based on our current Annual Day Celebration.

We are thankful to Principal Sir for coining this idea & for planning & executing it in a very systematic way. It touched everyone's heart & the audience was also delighted with it Sir's main motto is to make the school campus like an English campus, so he infused the seed in the form of play on an annual day. It inspired the students to take part in such events & improve their communication skills.

JET Meet Winners

Mrs. Sangeeta Jindal Madam selected the best 6 paintings in the JET MEET & our honorable Principal sir honored those 6 students along with the participating students by giving certificates in a special assembly. Principal Sir motivated students in the school assembly by stating that winning or losing is not important, participation is very much important. In addition to it, he said that their artwork was outstanding & was appreciated by the management He also said students to take part in such competitions so that they will be experiencing & exploring new ideas. Overall Sir appreciated students by giving them their certificates. Sir conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the parents for their cooperation. He exclaimed with joy that the students brought laurels to the school.

Modern Art Skills

Sometimes Toughest tasks and challenges taught us many life lessons. Here are some of the tasks given by art teacher Mr.Anil.

As we know that psychologically every human being wants to live their life easily and smartly but unfortunately there are no options to take shortcuts to get success easily until or unless when challenges come in life. So far I wish to test their strength and capability to face the challenges in their life.. here are some of the challenges:-

1)Glass paintings:- one of the modern art teaches everything is useful when creativity is in our strength and at the same time it is not an easy task to give strokes by brush but kids did it beautifully on glass bottles.

2)2D life:- minutes color filling is one of the toughest works where the shape of form, size, and proportion should be accurate while making paintings.

Modern Art Skills

Every day every child is new and vibrant through art. Students innovated their designs on cloth by using acrylic paints of the modern process. Modern art skills show many things that can be used without being disposed of it. Similarly, way chalk carvings, soap carvings, and vegetable carvings were made by students. The outcome was unbelievable.

Modern Art Skills

On 3rd December 2022 school conducted an art activity for grades 3 to 5.

There were different topics, they were:

Grade 3:- Bell making

Grade 4:- Calligraphy and paragraph writing on Christmas Day.

Grade 5:- Santa Claus collage work.

Art on Landscape Painting

Sports Event

Activity Name:- Balancing game

Mode:- Individually

Grade:- I to V

Component:Agility, strength, coordination, concentration, and endurance. Objective: Increases muscle strength, and endurance, and develops coordination and walking skills

We all know that balance is important. We’re talking physical balance here, i.e. the ability to achieve such feats as walking without falling over, carrying an exam pad, and keeping a tennis ball on it without dropping students walking up to the finishing line. you know, all the critical motions that get us through the day. Balance seems like such a simple, natural thing, we often take it for granted. Balance is not given, but a learned skill that requires physical and mental effort As with many such activities, good balance skills come more easily to us when we’re younger: we’re lighter, more compact, more flexible, and less fearful.

Sports Event

We also aren’t afraid of looking silly and, should we fall, the ground is only a few short feet away. Practicing balance as a child can help kids to set up for a lifetime of strength, grace, and good preconception. And how do we get kids to learn new skills without knowing them it? Make a game out of it!

Grade I to V students participated in a sports event. It’s an event of 100 balancing game competition which was organized on 03 12 2022 Saturday from 9:30 am to 01:00 pm at the school ground beside Bapuji (junior) wing. Classroom Activity

Mathematics hands-on activity was conducted under the guidance of SANJOTA KULKARNI in the class for the grade V students on 25th November 2022 on the topic, "Profit and Loss"

Students were able to understand the concept and develop their imaginative thinking skills, and confidence, and understood how to use Profit and Loss.

Importance of Profit and Loss : The profit and Loss formula is used in mathematics to determine the price of a commodity in the market and understand how profitable a business is. Every product has a cost price and a selling price. Based on the values of these prices, we can calculate the profit gained or the loss incurred for a particular product.

Flow: The teacher asked students to bring different things for the activity. All the things were kept in the class. The children named the shop "JAV MART".The children were asked to paste the selling price of the things. The teacher explained about the cost price and selling price, and also how the shopkeeper gets profit and Loss. The children learned the profit and Loss chapter by the play way method.

Classroom Activity

The task to the students:

The teacher asked the students to visit any near shop and get information on their profit. How much the Shop keeper will get profit on each item and where do they get loss, on which items?

Dear Readers, we have come up with another inspiring story, read & inculcate the value in your life.

Value

A popular speaker started a seminar by holding up a $20 bill. A crowd of 200 had gathered to hear him speak. He asked, “Who would like this $20 bill?”

200 hands went up.

He said, “I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this.” He crumpled the bill up. He then asked, “Who still wants it?”

All 200 hands were still raised.

“Well,” he replied, “What if I do this?” Then he dropped the bill on the ground and stomped on it with his shoes.

"No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it." – H.E. Luccock

From Editorial Board

He picked it up and showed it to the crowd. The bill was all crumpled and dirty.

All the hands still went up.

“My friends, I have just shown you a very important lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, life crumples us and grinds us into the dirt. We make bad decisions or deal with poor circumstances. We feel worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value. You are special – Don’t ever forget it!

“Now who still wants it?”
