Nearly 10% of children will be diagnosed with ADHD at some point in their lives. In this workshop, educators will consider how to adapt their environments and teaching modalities to set students with ADHD up for success within the supplementary school setting.
Often, the burden is placed on Autistic students to adapt to neurotypical settings that are not designed with their profiles and needs in mind. This workshop will lay the foundation for creating classrooms, lessons, activities, and systems that proactively set Autistic students up for success.
When Teen Madrichim (teachers’ aides) are trained properly and utilized effectively in congregational school classrooms, inclusion becomes possible as students can now access the support they need. Through the Gateways Teen Madrichim Curriculum, teens are empowered with in-the-moment strategies for adapting and modifying the environment to set students up for success. This workshop will start the process of preparing school leaders and teachers to implement the training curriculum and support teen madrichim.
