Elsie Bennett | Director of Fitness & Wellness
As the years gracefully unfold, maintaining health and vitality becomes increasingly essential. Senior fitness classes stand as beacons of empowerment, offering tailored exercises, camaraderie, and guidance to those navigating the golden years of life. Amidst these classes, there exists an unsung hero—the instructor—whose passion, expertise, and compassion weave together an experience that transcends mere physical activity.
Leonor Martinez is an ISSA (International Sports Sciences Association) certified Personal Fitness Trainer/Coach, Nutrition Coach, NESTA Core Conditioning Specialist, Silver Sneakers Instructor, and Group Fitness Instructor. She has been training for the past 20 years and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology: Fitness at California State University, Long Beach. When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Leonor replied “I enjoy working in the health and fitness industry and feel most capable of developing remarkable results for my clients/students. I am dependable and take extraordinary pride in my performance as a professional. I am committed to working hard and seeing the challenges overcome and lead to successful outcomes.”
The benefits of senior fitness classes extend far beyond the physical, touching upon mental, emotional, and social well-being. Engaging in regular exercise fosters cardiovascular health, strengthens muscles and bones, and enhances flexibility – crucial components in maintaining independence and preventing age-related ailments. Moreover, exercise acts as a potent mood booster, releasing endorphins and combating feelings of anxiety and depression, fostering a sense of emotional strength. Join us this summer for one of our senior fitness classes led by Leonor on Monday at 10:00am, or Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00am. Cheers to health and longevity!
