Jewish Family Service is unique because our full range of services are available to the clients under one roof. This is part of our whole-person care approached, which recognizes that all areas of one’s life are interconnected.
Last year, our client John* suffered a knee injury that was complicated by his diabetes, causing severe pain and forcing him to miss work frequently. The situation escalated to the point where he ended up in the ER, and the treatment he needed was beyond his financial reach.
When John turned to JFS for help, we connected him with Northpoint Health Center, where he received the necessary treatment at an affordable price. As his knee began to heal, John received job skills training through our Career and Financial Services Department to help him find a new job that would be easier on his joints, reducing the risk of future injury. He also visited the JFS Food Pantry, where he now has access to groceries and diabetic-friendly recipes essential tools to help him manage his health and ensure he has food on the table as he starts his new job.
