Three Years Of Serving Roseland

The Roseland Counseling Clinic from JFS has continued to thrive in providing and offering mental health counseling and supportive services to the Roseland community in the year 2021-2022. There was strong participation and coordination in a variety of community events and outreach presentations that served to strengthen the relationship with the community residents and partners. This included providing workshops on Self-Care to teachers in Spence Middle School, and to a group of parents from the community.

A workshop on Child Abuse and Trauma was also offered to the teachers of Roseland Head Start of Greater Dallas. Another important initiative was the launching of a series of parent forums dedicated to support parents and caregivers from the community throughout the summer with enriching topics such as early childhood social emotional development, health, emotional wellness and goal setting.

NEWEST OFF-SITE PARTNERSHIP

The Jewish Family Service Counseling Program at the PediPlace continues with our mission of providing effective and accessible mental health services to those in need.

Similarly, the PediPlace is a pediatric clinic that strives to make healthcare a reality for every kid. Our counseling program partnership opened its doors in 2021 and currently impacts about 50 children, teenagers, and family members every week. JFS clinicians collaborate closely with medical providers in order to optimize the child’s holistic health.

We were also able to re-decorate and furnish the Roseland Counseling Clinic to make it more warm and inviting thanks to a “Day of Service” that was hosted by the Church of Incarnation volunteers.
