SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGY

Occupational Therapy

JFS provides a full array of special education services to all students who are enrolled in Jewish day schools throughout Dallas. Our team collaborates regularly to discuss and best meet the needs of all of our students. The JFS Collaborative Team includes School Mental Health Counselors, Speech Language Pathologists, an Occupational Therapist, Early Childhood Intervention Specialists, Academic Intervention Specialists, and Diagnosticians.

EARLY CHILDHOOD INTERVENTION SERVICES - PRESCHOOL

Schools Served: JCC Preschool, Akiba Yavneh Academy Preschool, TDSD Preschool, Anshai Torah Preschool, Chabad of Dallas Preschool

Service Areas Addressed: behavioral, academic, and social development needs of preschool aged children. Intervention Specialist collaborates with parents, teachers, and school directors to create individual plans for identified students. Coordination with specialized services including diagnostic testing, speech/language therapy, occupational therapy, and play therapy. Classroom observations are conducted to determine student needs and classroom needs.

DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES SPOTLIGHT: LACEY MATHEWS, LSSP

Lacey Mathews is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP). Originally from Louisiana, Lacey moved to Denton, TX in 2009 to attain her Master’s in School Psychology from the University of North Texas and has been a Texan ever since! She has worked in both public school districts in North Texas as well as the Autism clinic at Children’s Health in Dallas.

As an LSSP, Lacey has experience providing a variety of services including parent and in-home training, counseling, teacher training, creating functional behavior analysis plans for students, and extensive evaluation of neurodivergent students ranging in age from 18 months-18 years. Lacey is very excited to be a part of the JFS team and to support Jewish day schools in the area!
