P E AC E B U I L D I N G , JUSTICE, AND R E C O N C I L I AT I O N Injustice runs rampant when a community’s most vulnerable citizens do not have a voice. ALARM gives a voice to the vulnerable by training and equipping Christian leaders—including judges, lawyers, police and military officers, and government leaders—in biblical principles involving all aspects of peacebuilding, forgiveness, reconciliation, and definitions of godly justice. Without a voice for all citizens, relationships cannot reconcile and nations or communities cannot experience stability, peace, and development. 2017 Highlights More than 100 Members of Parliament in South Sudan were trained and equipped in trauma healing, forgiveness, and conflict transformation, recognizing that only a new generation of visionary Christian servant leaders can pull their nation out of its steep decline. ALARM’s Legal Aid Clinic in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo rescued more than 44 children and youth who were imprisoned on false or unsubstantiated charges and continues to tirelessly advocate for the voiceless in and around North Kivu Province. By training lawyers in Zanzibar, ALARM has sparked a desire among Christian lawyers to stand against the plethora of human trafficking activities in Zanzibar and to work against the odds to find and bring home children trafficked to other countries.
