A festival-themed wayfinding system can significantly improve the visitor experience during the festival period by using clear and concise directions, festival-themed colors, imagery, and language, ultimately enhancing customer satisfaction. This document outlines how and where these signs should be used, and how they should ne designed and built in order to effectively implement the wayfinding strategy.

What Is Wayfinding

An effective shopping mall wayfinding system should have clear and concise signage that is easy to read and follow. The signs should be well-placed and visible, guiding shoppers to their desired destinations.

Printed maps can also be useful, especially for those who prefer a visual representation of the mall’s layout. However, printed maps should be consistent with the directional signage in the mall to avoid confusion. Comparing the printed map with the directional signage in the mall can help shoppers orient themselves and find their way around more easily.

Subsequent decisions depend on various factors such as the shopper’s preferences, the mall’s layout, and available information. If shoppers can successfully solve a wayfinding problem on their first visit and remember the solution, they are less likely to face difficulties on subsequent visits. To revisit the mall, shoppers must be able to follow a route in reverse to exit the mall or find their way back to their starting point.
