Adults are invited to join a monthly discussion about books based on inspirational fiction and non-fiction. Some titles were chosen from The Oprah’s Book Club list, and others from popular, well-known authors, and motion pictures that inspire hope, healing, and personal growth.

This class would explore why a website is extremely important for a writer. The course will also provide advice, information, resources, and tips on how to build or create a writer’s website.

Children’s book illustrator Amanda Keller will instruct kids on how to make unique, adorable cartoon-style illustrations. From the eyes to the hair, and everything in between, Amanda will use sketching and painting to help kids create memorable characters.

In this program, Sheila Herring will play her ukulele, sing songs, and dance to popular kid’s tunes. PRINTMAKING

In this 2 hour workshop you will learn how to carve your own image into a linoleum block, how to ink it up, & print! Everyone will go home with multiple prints & a linoleum block that you carved yourself! You will also learn the basic elements of printmaking. No previous printmaking skills required.

Space ranger trainees will join our highly skilled astronaut team to prepare for their next space voyage. Rangers will work on increasing their mobility and flexibility through a series of maneuvers in our training obstacle course. This program will include some footage showing Ultimate Ninjas pro runs (they have several people on staff that have participated in American Ninja Warrior!), conversation about topics such as failure and perseverance, goal setting and the importance of exercise as well as overcoming obstacles on and off the course. There will also be a hands-on element where teens can try a few things such as dead-hanging from a portable pull-up bar.

The East 38th Street Zine Collection was created to expand the number of available reading materials for library patrons who are seeking perspectives closer to their own. This collection supports the Library’s mission to provide access to additional material formats written by and for BIPOC through our commitment to racial equity and inclusion. The collection currently contains over 250 zines available for checkout with your library card.
THE SMALL PRINT
The author contrasts the terms and conditions of financial offers with the real-life needs of the people they are marketed to. Unique woven artwork on every page illustrates navigation through systems designed to confuse and obfuscate.
