She is an Information Professional with a focus on the African Diaspora, Community Engagement and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Access (DEIA); a Civic Leader and a Lifelong Learner, as well as a Genealogist with a focus on African Ancestry and keeping families connected. She’s a lover of Poetry and a blogger and family connection. Nichelle obtained her first library card at the Emerson Branch.

Toddlers 18 36 months will practice their throwing, kicking, hand eye coordination, and targeting in this sports program with JumpBunch of Indianapolis. This program will focus on traditional sports that use balls, like football, soccer, and basketball!

Let's get building! Participants learn basic woodworking skills how to measure, mark, and use tools safely. Each participant starts with raw materials and leaves with a sense of accomplishment, pride, and a functional f inished project! Closed toe shoes are recommended.

Choose from old favorites or try something new. Don't know how to play something that interests you? Instructions for board games are provided.

Interested in learning to build websites from scratch? Curious about coding? Join this ongoing virtual study group and learn how to build websites using HTML and CSS, with free access to online, interactive training tools provided by the library.

Not sure what computer class to take? Come in to the library half an hour before any of our Thursday computer classes to take an assessment from Northstar Digital Learning. Once you’ve got the skills, have your assessment proctored to receive a certification.

Whole Hearted—Rue Sparks Rue Sparks is a Noblesville writer and illustrator whose published works include “The Stars Will Guide Us Back,” “Daylight Chasers,” and “The Fable of Wren,” along with the web serial “The Dragon Warden.” Here, their beautifully detailed drawings illustrate a short poem about self sufficiency.

Bird Politics 2 Through drawings and text this local zine creator explores the politics of creatures with tiny brains.

The East 38th Street Zine Collection was created to expand the number of available reading materials for library patrons who are seeking perspectives closer to their own. This collection supports the Library’s mission to provide access to additional material formats written by and for BIPOC through our commitment to racial equity and inclusion. The collection currently contains over 175 zines available for checkout with your library card.

LOCAL BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT

Chromebooks are a type of computer designed to help you get things done faster and easier. They run Chrome OS, an operating system that has cloud storage and many Google services built in. You do not need a Google account to use the Library’s Crhomebooks.

A portable hotspot device lets you share your high speed, wi fi internet to multiple devices such as smartphones, tablets, Chromebooks Made possible by the G. Marlyne Sexton and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation

• Chromebooks and hotspot devices may be borrowed for up to 21 days. • When the lending period ends, the device will become non functional until returned. • Device must be returned to a staff member at the branch it was checked out from. Staff will complete a device evaluation with you present at check out and check in. • Never return devices in a dropbox. • Devices are available on af first come, first served basis and cannot be held, renewed, or requested. • If a device is lost or damaged, the cost of the specific missing or damaged item will be charged.
