Message from 2022 JCI Mauritius National President

Dear Readers,

It is with great honour and privilege to address you as the 2022 JCI Mauritius National President in this first issue of JCI Quatre Bornes newsletter. I would hereby like to thank Local President Ashfaaq Ochatoya and his Local Board Members for taking the challenge to lead the Local Organisation this year.

As young leaders, we have - and will continue to have - a valuable role in the local and national response to community challenges. I would urge you to dream big but, at the same time, remember to start small. Transformation is not a big bang; like everything in nature, it’s a gradual process. There will be spikes, when you hit the threshold where something big happens but, you have to work from the ground up. Every tree starts off as a seedling – you have to take care of it and let it grow. In JCI, training, empowerment and connecting with past members and senators is vital for the success of an Organisation. It is only through these ways that the current generation can learn about its history and its culture. I will hereby encourage JCI Quatre Bornes to work as one united team and by amplifying their voice in order to be the organization that creates and brings sustainable impact.

This year, JCI Quatre Bornes is working with the Mauritius Police Force in Gender-Based Violence initiatives whereby various activities are planned to be conducted. I would like to congratulate JCI Quatre Bornes for winning this year’s JCI Mauritius Debate Competition.

On behalf of the national board, I would like to seize this opportunity to thank JCI Quatre Bornes for its continuous support and I look forward to their impactful projects and activities.

Yours in JCI Spirit,

yudhish Narotumdass roHEE
