About JCI Petaling Jaya JCI Petaling Jaya (JCI PJ), was initiated in year 1980 by JCI Senator DJ Lourdes (Past President of JCI Bukit Mertajam) and the late JCI Senator Patrick Wong (Past President of JCI Ipoh) and extended under JCI Kuala Lumpur. JCI PJ was officially registered under Registrar of Society on 21 April 1981 and installed its Charter President JCI Senator Felix Gong in September 1981. Currently, JCI PJ is registered under the Registrar of Youth and Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia and is affiliated to JCI Malaysia and Majlis Belia Selangor. JCI PJ is an award winning local organization that is affiliated to JCI Malaysia, maintaining the 100% Efficiency Award since year 2009 till now. JCI PJ was won numerous awards at JCIM Annual National Convention, JCI ASPAC and JCI World Congress. It was also awarded the Most Outstanding Local Organization in Malaysia 7 years consecutively from year 2009-2015. In 2019, JCI PJ was the first NGO being awarded with Eco Office Certification under Eco Office Initiative Project (EIPO) by NetsECo. JCI PJ is now operating from its new headquarters in Damansara Perdana, where board meetings, training and members gathering are held monthly. JCI PJ is managed by its Boards if Directors, who is elected annually and contributes voluntarily. Members are given leadership opportunities, and practices "1 Year to Lead" concept. JCI PJ conduct various events annually, including its signature projects such as International Children Drawing Contest (organized in collaboration with JCI Higashi Iruma, Japan) and Dragon Ambassador (organized in collaboration with JCI City, Hong Kong). Both of the project won international awards in 2019 JCI Asia Pacific Conference (ASPAC), Jeju and 2019 JCI World Congress, Estonia (Europe) respectively. JCI PJ also conducted many community projects such as JCI PJ FoodHero (collecting excess breads from bakeries and to channel to orphanage homes), Stand By Me (for fundraising to JCIPJ-UMMC Leukemia and Childhood Cancer Trust Fund) and many others. JCI PJ is also experienced in organizing JCIM National Awards, having hosted the JCI Creative Young Entrepreneur Awards (JCI CYEA) since 2009-2016 on behalf of JCI Malaysia, and JCIM Sustainable Development Award in 2018. Through these award programs, JCI PJ has built strong relations with various ministries, youth organizations, NGOs and media in Malaysia. Internationally, JCI PJ has 3 sisterhood pact with JCI Higashi Iruma (Japan), JCI Taoyuan (Taiwan) and JCI City (Hong Kong), as well as 1 brotherhood pact with JCI Tawau (Sabah). JCI PJ is also the Founding Member of Commonwealth Asia Alliance of Young Entrepreneurs (CAAYE - now rebranded to CAYE-Asia). CAYE-Asia is a network of organizations focused on youth entrepreneurship development from 8 countries (Bangladesh, Brunei, India, Malaysia, Maldives, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Pakistan) and 1 observer nation (Nepal). It was formed by the mandate given from the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting and is now recognized as a best-practice network by the Commonwealth Secretariat. JCI PJ had the honor to co-host the 1st CAAYE Interim Summit in July 2012 at KL and hosted the 4th CAYE-Asia Young Entrepreneur Summit from 30 Oct - 1 Nov 2015 in Putrajaya.
