2024 JCI Malaysia Factsheet About JCI Malaysia Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCI Malaysia) is a National Organization of the Junior Chamber International local organizations in Malaysia. JCI Malaysia was chartered in year 1976 and is affiliated to Junior Chamber International (JCI), a global leadership development organization for young active citizens aged 18 to 40, founded since 1915 in St Louis, US by Henry Giessenbier. JCI Malaysia is managed by its National Board of Directors who are all volunteers, serving based on JCI’s “One Year to Lead” values.

Membership There are over 3,320 members from 75 local organizations affiliated to JCI Malaysia, from Area North, Central-South, Sabah and Sarawak. JCI membership is open to all nationalities, races and religions.

TAN WEI JIAN ORGANIZING CHAIRPERSON Welcome to the 2024 Leadership Summit!

It is an honor to serve you as the Organizing Chairperson of this event and I thank the National President and my colleagues in the National Board of Directors for your trust and faith in me to carry out this important task.

Firstly, thank you to our dedicated team of organizing committee who’ve worked hard to ensure the success of this event. I would never have been able to do much without the support of my team, thank you for giving me such a wonderful experience working with all of you.

This event would also not be possible without the kind contribution from all our sponsors who pledged their support to JCI Malaysia in 2024. I am touched to see that many of our sponsors are also our members who are not just contributing financially, but also actively serving in JCI Malaysia.

As our organization continues to grow, there are bound to be differences of opinion, ideas, and approaches in dealing with challenges as our membership base is so diverse. The Leadership Summit is the only event in JCI Malaysia that offers a platform for decision-makers at the local, area, and national levels to align priorities and exchange ideas.

Some of you may retort: “What about the National Convention?”

Well, most of you would already have a successor by then and you would be looking forward to your “retirement” more commonly known as “pang kang” among our circles. I know because I was one of you too back in the day.

The History of Leadership Summit The 2024 Leadership Summit will be the ninth edition of this prestigious event. The first Leadership Summit was held in 2016 and was organized as a one-day summit. The program’s main aim is to kick start the year with the whole organization together and to align on direction, strategy, and approach to showcase our strength in numbers, and that although we are diverse, we are one united organization.

Residing in JB with his loving wife and their three children – a son Luther aged 5 and two daughters, Natasha aged 4 and Zee Ya aged 1 – Bruce embodies a commitment to both professional excellence and family values.

Born on January 10, 1987, in Ipoh, Matt culminated in a Bachelor of Economics and Finance from the University of Melbourne.

Currently residing in Ipoh with his wife and son, he holds the position of General Manager at an automotive repairing firm. In 2017, he became a member of JCI, marking the initiation of his involvement in the organization. His commitment to JCI reflects not only a professional engagement but also a personal dedication to community development and positive change.

Born on March 24, 1985 in Sabah. Max Voo Min Chung holds a sijil kemahiran Malaysia level 2 in Electronic industry. He is running a business to rent printer to private and government sector. He resides in Tawau, Sabah with his wife, Wong Chew Yan and a son and a daughter.
