JCI Values

I've had the privilege of attending the many programs that are held within Area North in Q3 and are glad to witness the drive and dedication of our young leaders for doing such a remarkable job.

There is a long journey ahead of us in JCI and I ask all of us to stay united and to be bold in stepping forward.

Page 04

I encourage all our members to not be afraid of these challenges but to face it head on and to rise above it and overcome it together

Rise Up

Wei Jian Area Chairperson

-Confucious

Now, of course the more we do, the more mistakes we tend to make; and I would argue that this is the greatness of JCI because it provides our members an opportunity to learn from our mistakes and through this experience develop ourselves

Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fall.

The workshop's major goal is to instruct and prepare the participants on how to find new members using a variety of successful strategies and to work to keep existing members in each local organization Participants in this course are exposed to a variety of management and recruitment strategies for young, engaged citizens who want to make a difference in their communities and the wider globe. The course also instructs the attendees on how to become more familiar with JCI values

Area Happenings

2002 JCI Malaysia National President, JCI Senator Velvet Ooi served as the workshop's Head Trainer. She discussed a number of strategies for enlisting new members, such as planning events to draw people or create an impression in their thoughts The recruitment process will typically go much more smoothly if they are aware of our presence and our beliefs.

The event was deemed successful since it inspired the participants to think of better strategies for attracting new members and retaining existing members

JCI Malaysia Recruitment & Retention Workshop

On July 23, 2022, members from Area North has attended the Recruitment and Retention Workshop hosted by JCI Malaysia in Petaling Jaya

Page 16

Area Initiative

To prepare our next generation of leaders that will lead the area and nation, JCI Malaysia Area North have launched an intiative called "Area Leadership Institute" (A L I) The program is a four part series that aims to immediately elevate the competency and standard of leadership candidates and to create a support network amongst its participants to be better

The initiative believes in "Better Leaders, Better World" and it closely aligns to JCI's tagline which is to developing leaders for a changing world

The second A L I module, Speak with Confidence was trained by Mr Will Teh, a fellow JCI member who is no stranger to the public speaking world. This module covers the basics of how our participant should communicate their thoughts and ideas because if they want to lead, they will need to speak (well)

"The single biggest way to impact an organization is to focus on leadership development. There is almost no limit to the potential of an organization that recruits good people, raises them up as leaders and continually develops them "

The first A.L.I module was kick started by two reputable speakers, our National President Ellen and ADUN Pulau Tikus YB Chris Lee on 27th August 2022 The first module covered the reason that we lead in JCI and beyond to prepare our participants a journey that they will embark on.

There will be two more sessions for our A L I participants so stay tuned!

-John Maxwell

Note: Due to some technicalities, some of the lucky draw prizes is still up for grabs and will be redrawn. So stay tuned at JCI Malaysia Facebook page for more updates.
