ABOUT JCI The Junior Chamber movement was officially started in 1915 by Henry Giessenbier Jr. in Missouri, USA. The JC movement aims to study civic and business problems. The movement took up momentum to spread around the world and by 1954, it was introduced to Malaysia.

JCI Bandar Klang was founded in 2016 by Charter President, Timothy Chu.

My warmest greeting to JCI Bandar Klang.

Warmest greeting to JCI Bandar Klang members.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate President Jimmy Tan and his board on their commitment to excellence in the first quarter of 2018. It is awesome to witness a 2 year-old local organization with such excellent plan of action in year 2018, notably projects such as “Be A Buddy, Not A Bully”, and “World Clean Up Day” that involved NGOs, Government bodies and Local Community to create a huge impact.

First and foremost, I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate my assigned LO, JCI Bandar Klang President, Jimmy Tan and the Board of Directors on their successful installation in December. Indeed, it is my greatest pleasure to be serving as their National Vice President for year 2018.

I was very honored to be able to participate in the “World Clean Up Day” project, so thank you again for promoting our APCS Plan of Action, “H.O.M.E” during the event.

In the first quarter, we are able to achieve the “H.O.M.E” with organized Debate Oregan Training. We were also honored to introduce the JCIM APCS Patron who will be by supporting our campaign by contributing RM 1 or RM 2 per day. The funding will be used for “H.O.M.E” projects like Green Box Awareness Program, Area Sports Day, Area JCI Discovery, Oregan Debate Training and Peace Joy Ride 1.0 that will be held in June 2018.

Last but not least, I would like to congratulate JCI Bandar Klang for your great commitment in providing sustainable solutions in your community. I wish to see you all on the stage of APCSC 2018 in Muar, a place where everyone will “Rise and Shine”!

Over the last few months, I have been really impressed with the spirit of the team and their commitment in organizing events, training and projects that aligned with the Presidential Plan of Action.

This group of young active citizen with less than 5 years history and experience in JCI has really inspired me. Their positive impact on the society and nation should be adopted not only in JCI but also in our life.

Let's put our heart and spirit together as per the theme of our National President JCI Senator Kelvin Chew: "Together We Are One".

BE A BUDDY, NOT A BULLY This anti-bullying project was created in 2017 as our way of helping schools and society to promote a peace.

As more and more cases of bullying are being reported in the media every year, we hope to bring awareness to parents, students and schools.

We were very fortunate to have the participation of several SRJK schools in Klang, and the support of Polis Diraja Malaysia as well as JCI Bandar Klang Ambassador, Andy Teh to make our campaign a suceess.

This year we received a donation of RM 10,000 which will be used to make BE A BUDDY NOT A BULLY a bigger and better campaign.

One such way is a cash prize for schools who demonstrate the anti-bullying, pro-kindness movement creatively.

2ND GMM BUKIT GASING On 18th March 2017, JCI Bandar Klang organized our 2nd GMM with a Clean Up Hike at Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya. This GMM was a success in terms of fulfilling the 2018 presidential theme of Joyful, Motivation and Teamwork.

As active young citizens, we should be healthy and consciously mindful of protecting our environment and this hike reinforces that.

CNY CALLIGRAPHY EVENT BY SELANGOR EXCO, Y.B DATO TENG CHANG KHIM On February 4th, a total of 10 members of JCI Bandar Klang attended the above event in support of our sponsor, YB Dato Teng Chang Khim.

Jci Bandar Klang is proud to be able to collaborate with the local council on various projects in the near future. This will enable more media exposure so that we can encourage more active citizens in Klang to join us.

Besides bonding and catching up YB, we also gained knowledge on calligraphy and Chinese culture.

APCS AREA ACADEMY BIDDING In preparation for the bidding of APCS Area Academy, we have made a day trip to a "secret" location to meet with the local community leaders.

The proposal was met with great interest and enthusiasm and a motion for a JCI mural was even set in place!

JCIM EVENT: 2018 LEADERSHIP SUMMIT

Date: 31st Dec 2017 to 1st Jan 2018 Venue: Kem Kenegaraan, Kuala Lumpur The Leadership Summit was a 2D1N program officiated by Ketua Pengarah Biro Tatanegara, Jabatan Perdana Menteri, Yang Berbahagia Datuk Haji Ibrahim Saad.

Attended by 200 participants from 68 local organizations, participants were briefed on the Malaysia Youth Council, 2017 Year End Report and 2018 Awards program.

The official handover ceremony of JCIM National Presidency from JCI Senator Nurul Huda Mohamed Afandi to incoming National President, JCI Senator Kelvin Chew took place on the same day.

The introduction of 2018 JCIM National Board of Directors and appointees was carried out and several new initiatives and program were also introduced.

Attendees were able to ring in the New Year together as the event took place on the last day of 2017.
