EGG CRACKING PROJECT

JCI Bandar Klang is to be invited by Play Klang to participate in the Klang Tourism MV recording to promote Klang culture and tourism. As an NGO in Klang area, we are proud to contribute to this meaningful project and introduce Klang to more people in a unique way.

LOCAL ORGANIZATION ACADEMY

The two days virtual LO academy was conducted early this year with the objective to introduce JCI and JCI Bandar Klang to members and provide clearer directions and plan of actions for Board of Directors this year. After the academy, all members gained better understanding about the organization and BODs begun to have better planning and execution following LO direction.

LOVE COLLECTION

This project was held one month before Chinese New Year, where many people would perform their spring cleaning and recycling old clothes. We took this opportunity to organize a recycling campaign and distributed the collected garments to the needy, in hopes that, they could have new clothes for the festive too. With the efforts of sharing the news over social media, the power of word of mouth and the willingness to contribute to the society, we successfully collected 3000+ pieces of clothes in just 9 days. The committees even went the extra miles to wash, lter and segregate the clothes before distributing them to the needy to ensure that the clothes are all in good condition. The clothes were distributed to Padmasambhava Children Loving Association, Tiam Yam Toh Teng (Old Folks Home), Pusat Jagaan

Anbe Sivam, Sri Andalas and Refugee Institution, Sentosa.

LOVE BRINGS PROTECTION

[Love Brings Protection] is organized by JCI Bandar Klang, co-organized by Jom Live, Lions Club of KL Bukit Bintang, TDG Asia Branding Agency, Absolute Music Studio, supported by Dance for Fund Society Selangor, Propnex Malaysia, Art Sense Studio, Foong Chee Facepics, endorsed by Pejabat Ahli Parlimen Klang and project advisor by PVVIPM International Club. Organizing Chairlady Jessica Loo came up with the idea of seeking donation from the public to purchase PPE gowns for the front-liners as areas in Klang Valley are mostly COVID red-zones. The donation was being held for one month from end of January to 28th February 2021. The total number of infections recorded in Klang has reached 21,069 cases, and 34 lives have been claimed as of end of January 2021, while the surge in Selangor has threateningly skyrocketed to almost 53,000. To improve our heroes' protection against the fatal virus and as a gesture of appreciation for their sel ess sacri ces, we as civilians shall also contribute our love, by supporting them with concrete and practical means, hence the birth of idea of donating PPE gowns to hospitals and clinics.
initial target was to raise a donation adequate for purchase of 10,000 pieces of PPE gowns. Through the hard work of committees and support from all co-organizers and public, we had achieved far beyond our initial target and successfully collected donation adequate for 18,000 pieces of PPE gowns in a month! In February, 2,000 pieces PPE gowns were donated to Klinik Kesihatan Pandamaran when they were facing PPE shortages. In early March, the committee has handed over 16,000 pieces of PPE gowns to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital and Klang District Health O ce.

NIU YEAR VIRTUAL NETWORKING ‘Bai Nian’ has always been the culture of Chinese New Year, where people would visit relatives’ and friends’ houses. However, due to the pandemic this year, we had moved this tradition of visiting each other and the catching up sessions to online. During the 9th day of Chinese New Year, we had a great virtual networking session with our brotherhood chapter, JCI Kinta. It was a fun session lled with fun and laughter, at the same time strengthening the bond between members. To make the session more exciting, the committees also prepared some games and lucky draws for the session. Throughout the session, members got to know each other better and able to explore more collaboration together.

JCI EXPLORE

JCI Explore, an interactive course which enable members to discover leadership opportunities within JCI was conducted in collaboration with JCI Setia Alam. Through group activities and discussion, participants get to explore the differences between leaders and followers and why both are necessary to create a sustainable movement and learn how to effectively manage and administer Local Organizations.
