April Newsletter Wow! Time is sure flying :) I don’t want to jinx it, but it I think we are finally getting into Spring!! With that, PLEASE remember that it is going to be very wet outside. Your child needs waterproof clothing, boots, and a FEW sets of extra clothing. Attention 3-5 side parents: We are making a few changes to our lunch and snack time guidelines. 1) We are no longer offering the children their lunch kits at afternoon snack. After speaking with numerous parents, we are hearing that many children are not eating well at supper time due to how much is eaten at afternoon snack. Since we stopped allowing the children to open their lunches to eat more food on top of our supplied snack, we have had lots of positive feedback. 2) We are no longer going to allow the children to have juiceboxes. The sugar content is extremely high, and with them going to bed right after eating, we would like them to stick to milk or water. On special days, such as potlucks, an exception will be made. 3) Please try to keep your childrens’ unhealthy snacks to one per day. We are really going to work on healthier eating and cutting out some sugar. We are asking that each child have at least one serving of fresh fruit and/or veggies. (See handbook excerpt below)

We promote balanced meals and healthy lunches. We recommend at least one fruit and one vegetable in your child’s lunch. Please no abundance of sugary foods. It is important to keep in mind that we go for nap time right after lunch. We have made another couple of staffing changes. Alesja is now gone, and from what we have heard, she is having a great time! As of Monday, April 3 rd, Lauren Goss will be starting in her full time position. However, she will now be working on the 3-5 side, instead of the I/T side as earlier stated. Shelby Bowden will be moving over to the I/T side. We are excited for these changes. Please make sure to take the time to meet Lauren, as she will now be the regular closing shift person. Please do not be offended if you are ID’d at pickup as Lauren gets to know all of you. We would rather be safe than sorry. So bear with us!

Reminders:  

Early closure is Tuesday, April 25th. Pick up by 4pm sharp! Late fees will apply. We are closed for Good Friday (April 14th) & Easter Monday (April 17th)
