A PLACE OF BELONGING FOR SPACE NORMADS
Jane. Dai Zhuoan.03. Space Generations & Space Nomards
While those with social status were able to build their empire on some planets. Most of the space migrants have to go on risky resource hunting and mining to make a living.
02. Space Technology Advancement
The technology of space travelling has accomplished a breakthrough. Spacecrafts are developed rapidly over the past few decades and ceomes a democratized innovation.
01.1 Future Scenrio / Space Era
01. Deterioration of Earth Living Conditions
Ecosystem destruction made the earth almost uninhabitable. Only the richest and most powerful people can enjoy the reserved part of the earth.
Environmental Design/ a place of belonging for space normads / Jane. Dai Zhuoan. Inspired by TV series, The ExpanseSPACE NOMADS
People who willingly or unwillingly live in spaceships and don't have any property on plants
Group 1. Scientsts/ Reserchers
People who constantly have to carry our space missions, whoes “normal” life as a human being has been compromised
Group 4. Families
Group 3. Transporters/ Miners
Group 4. Space Military
First Generation of space-born human. people who never stepped on earth.

Group 5.
Outlaws/ Pirates/ Scavengers

Physical Vulnerability
Hazard 3: Distance
Communication Delay
Far from family and friends
Hazard 2: Isolation & Confinement

Loneliness Lost
Physical & Psychological Imbalance

Redefine Relationship
When the Earth is not our home anymore.
No Regular Day & Night, 24 Hours or Seasons.
TIME REFERENCE IS UNSTABLE
Do we keep the earth biological clock?
Concept of place is relatively on a large scale. Home is a mobile space craft.
SPACE REFERENCE IS CHANGING
02.3 Problems as Human Races
Where is home?
Lost of earth culture, Nationality become a vague idea.
TRADITIONAL CULTURE IS LOST
Where do I belong?
What define us human?
What’s the meaning of life?
When technolgy advvancment is much greater than human evolution itself.

What will happens to “new” humans?
How are we going to cope with them?
Is it possible to create an intermediate place for space nomads

to Recover, to Reconnect, to Rediscover?

Reserch Theme:
What is belonging when you don’t have a home?
To Survive
Trouble, Mystery, Pain..
“When man is happy, mystery such as meaning of life does not interest him.”

1. rust Gravity/Linear Acceleration
a rocket travelling at 31.19 feet per second (9.81 meters per second ) squared — the downward acceleration of gravity here on Earth — an astronaut would feel their body anchored to the floor just like it is on their home planet.

2. Spinning Gravity/ Centrifugal Acceleration

It can be a gravitational ring for the whole craft or, it would enable space travellers to retreat to a specific area and spend some time experiencing the gravitational field.
3. Mass
install an ultra-high density core into a spacecraft so that it would generate its own gravitational field and pull everything inside towards it. The mass would obviously need to move with the spacecraft. Any significant acceleration required for hugely increased fuel consumption.
As part of the station or
Magnetic technologies developed to artificial gravity system. The system have to avoid any non-diamagnetic materials in or near the strong magnetic field. Magnets of incredible strength would also be required for the implementation of such an artificial gravity system.
05.2 Location_Discussing
Environmental Design/ a place of belonging for space travellers / Jane. Dai Zhuoan.
Artifical Gravity
Artificial gravity is the creation of an inertial force in a spacecraft, in order to emulate the force of gravity.
