Since establishment in 1987 in Five Dock, NSW, Independent Timber Importers has been on a mission to redefine the timber industry wholesale/distribution landscape. ITI has worked closely with industry suppliers, customers and associations to promote the strength, beauty and environmental benefits of using timber. At the same time ITI redefined the role of the wholesaler with its distribution and service models. With its large investments in distribution centres, product development, people and service standards; in early 2002 ITI dropped the name Independent Timber Importers and replaced this with ITI and introducing the new logo with the “Innovative Timber Ideas” phrase which more accurately describes the attitude of the company.
Today ITI consists of 9 distribution sites across Australia with over 140,000m2 of undercover storage, a state of the art re-manufacturing, treating and priming plant in Chile, an office in Indonesia, 4 distribution locations in New Zealand and growing sales in the USA.
True to its name, the success of ITI lies in its commitment to innovation in both service and product development. This commitment has led to premier brands such as Design Pine, EziTrim Plus, Spec LVL products along with the distribution of market leading products such as James Hardie, Evalast Pioneer, Weathertex and Modwood. ITI has also led the way with service standards winning countless industry awards for its service.
ITI Form Spec® RS is a versatile laminated veneer lumber product which is ideal for creating concrete form work assemblies - Bearers, Joists, Walers and Soldiers.
General Specification
The quality of ITI Form Spec LVL production is achieved through a program of internal production controls, regular destructive testing, continuous improvement programs and best practises.
The logs come from FSC-certified forests ensuring that the origin of the raw material is sustainably managed and traceable to its origins.
A wax free clear sealant is applied to the boards to provide additional protection from the weather. ITI Form Spec® RS is a timber product and therefore care should be taken to protect it from prolonged direct exposure to the weather or moisture.
One end of each LVL board has been painted in a unique colour for quick identification of the length.

• Maximum deflection criteria for this guide is per AS 3610-1995 Table 3.4.2, Item 2 for Class 3 & 4 Quality Requirements: Greater of 3mm and Span/270mm
• Density of concrete, including reinforcement, is assumed as 25 kN/m3
• This specification guide is based on the assumption that the supporting systems, restraints and footings have been appropriately considered
• This guide assumes the worst case of 2 or 3 equal spans all loaded equally. Further review of the assembly is required where the structure consists of an abnormal nature, additional imposed loads or further safety provisions are required
• Consult the ITI technical office if alternative stack loads or span configurations are required.
• The concrete forming contractor should always inspect the formed assembly prior to pouring to identify any damage or heightened moisture present in the members. ITI Form Spec® R must have an equilibrium moisture content of ≤15% or have design considerations made for Partial Seasoning Factor k4 in accordance with AS 1720.1 Section 2.4.2.3
