Spec Lam 15+ is an Australian-manufactured structural glue-laminated beam product developed specifically to match the depth of ITI’s broader range of Laminated Veneer Lumber and Wooden I-Joist products, along with open-web trusses commonly used in floor framing systems.
The sizing of Spec Lam 15+ can eliminate time-consuming processes during construction, such as packing up beams or embedding deeper beams in wall frames above.
Available from ITI’s Distribution Centre in S.E. Melbroune, our Australian-grown pine H2 LOSP Treated stock is ready to be delivered to Victoria’s foremost timber and building suppliers. Product Specifications
Appearance Grade:
Grade C - As defined in AS1328.1: This grade is intended for use in applications where appearance is not important. All blemishes and voids are acceptable. Where the member is not machined after lay-up overlap of laminations may be present.
Treatment: LOSP H2 treatment for protection against termites and insects found across all regions of Australia.
Beam Structure: 600m radius camber
When designing a Spec Lam 15+ across a continuous span consider the beam as having no camber i.e., a straight beam.
A cambered beam can typically be used where a straight beam has been specified except when the beam is in a cantilevered application.
Always install with the TOP EDGE marking on the top edge of the beam.
When installing a cambered beam across multiple spans, initially fix the beam to the end supports only. Once the beam is loaded, and the camber is no longer visible, complete the fixing at any intermediate supports.
