El tradicional encuentro deportivo internacional se vio interrumpido por la aparición de la nueva enfermedad COVID 19. A partir de esta situación la ITF se vio obligada a improvisar cambios para poder sortear las dificultades planteadas en todos los países por el aislamiento colectivo. “Conforme fue pasando el tiempo no solamente tuvimos que suspender los eventos deportivos, sino todas las actividades, reuniones, seminarios y en el mundo entero nos encontramos con la obligación de tener que suspender las clases”, afirma el Grand Master Néstor Galarraga, SEO de Eventos Deportivos de la ITF.
¿Qué planificación armaron para sortear el inconveniente?
A partir de esta situación global desarrollamos tres alternativas:
1) Continuar con las clases a través de diferentes plataformas, la reacción fue en cadena en todos los países y a los 30 días de ser decretado el aislamiento, estábamos dando clases nuevamente a través de los que denominamos Dojang Virtuales. 2) A partir de las clases se fueron programando diferentes actividades y así, fueron llegando diferentes seminarios de capacitación como el Webinar 2020, el IIC y el IUC, que quedarán como testimonio de la vocación y el compromiso con el que hemos trabajado maestros e instructores de todo el mundo para generar diferentes módulos de capacitación en el año más trágico de las últimas décadas. 3) El diseño de la plataforma deportiva ITFPLAY LIVE fue un acierto deportivo en lo que a competencia de FORMAS se refiere, desarrollándose los campeonatos sudamericanos, panamericanos y europeos con un alto nivel de compromiso de parte de Maestros, árbitros, coach y competidores que acudieron masivamente a todos los eventos.
¿Cómo se dio el cambio?
Fue un cambio y un aprendizaje en todos los niveles de nuestra organización. Tuvimos que reinventarnos y fue un desafío que asumimos con responsabilidad, criterio y seriedad. Con la intención de mostrar un Taekwon-Do que no se detiene frente a las peores circunstancias. Los primeros pasos respecto de la competencia deportiva virtual, se dieron desde Argentina, a la que se sumaron inmediatamente los países de América del Sur, Estados Unidos, Canadá conjuntamente con el resto de los países de América y posteriormente lo hizo Europa y ahora estamos en el proceso de Asia.
The traditional international sports meeting was interrupted by the appearance of the new disease COVID 19. From this situation the ITF was forced to improvise changes to be able to overcome the difficulties posed in all countries by collective isolation. What planning did you put together to overcome the problem?
From this global situation we developed three alternatives:
1) Continue with classes through different platforms, the reaction was in a chain in all countries and 30 days after isolation was decreed, we were teaching classes again through the which we call Virtual Dojang. 2) From the classes, different activities were programmed and thus, different training seminars such as the Webinar 2020 and the IIC AND THE IUC were arriving. that will remain as a testimony of the vocation and commitment with which teachers and instructors from all over the world have worked to generate different training modules in the most tragic year in recent decades. 3) The design of the ITFPLAY LIVE sports platform was a sports success as far as FORMAS competition is concerned, developing the South American, Pan American and European championships with a high level of commitment from Teachers, referees, coaches and competitors who attended en masse to all events.
¿Qué competencias Internacionales llenarán el calendario 2021?
Respecto al 2021 nos parece prematuro generar una agenda deportiva a nivel internacional, en este momento. Al respecto queremos dar pasos firmes, no crear falsas expectativas y actuar con responsabilidad social por sobre todas las cosas. La mitad del mundo se encuentra atravesando la segunda ola de contagios del COVID 19. El virus ataca con una nueva cepa y la vacuna recién está llegando a los diferentes países. Pienso que es necesario pisar la pelota, mirar la cancha, organizar el juego, y por encima de todas las cosas, seguir promoviendo las medidas básicas de seguridad.
¿Cómo seguirá todo el año próximo?
Pensamos que en muchos sentidos vamos a seguir trabajando a distancia y de manera virtual. Muchos de estos cambios que hemos implementado formarán parte de una nueva normalidad. Estamos desarrollando un nuevo plan para el año que comienza basado en tres aspectos que son fundamentales. En primer lugar, nuestro Vicepresidente Grand Master Trevor Nicholls está generando cambios en la administración de nuestra institución, pensando en una organización tradicional, pero más competitiva, más atractiva y adaptada a esta nueva normalidad. En segundo lugar, hemos pensado en un sistema de capacitación dinámico, y para ello hemos desarrollado una plataforma de capacitación a distancia www.taekwondoworkshop.com para maestros e instructores y respecto al área deportiva, capacitación para dirigentes, árbitros, coach y competidores. El primer encuentro de capacitación está previsto para el mes de mayo y será exclusivo para maestros.
Dentro de la plataforma deportiva ITFPLAY LIVE, la cual se encuentra a cargo del Maestro José Maidana, están trabajando en la organización del Campeonato Asiático previsto para los primeros meses del 2021 y estamos estudiando la posibilidad de organizar durante este año, el primer Campeonato Mundial ITF Virtual de la Historia. Por otra parte, pensamos que una vez que recuperemos la normalidad presencial respecto a nuestro deporte, esta plataforma cumplirá una función muy importante en nuestra organización ITF de cara al futuro, convirtiendo lo que hoy conocemos y utilizamos como un soporte de organización deportiva virtual en una herramienta de capacitación en FORMAS para los árbitros en todo el mundo.
How did the change come about?
It was a change and learning at all levels of our organization. We had to reinvent ourselves and it was a challenge that we assumed with responsibility, judgment and seriousness. With the intention of showing a Taekwon-Do that does not stop in the face of the worst circumstances. The first steps regarding virtual sports competition were taken from Argentina, which were immediately joined by the countries of South America, the United States, Canada together with the rest of the countries of America and later Europe did and now we are in the Asian process.
What International competitions will fill the 2021 calendar?
Regarding 2021, it seems premature to generate a sports agenda at the international level, at this time. In this regard we want to take firm steps, not create false expectations and act with social responsibility above all else. Half the world is experiencing the second wave of COVID 19 infections. The virus is attacking with a new strain and the vaccine is just reaching different countries. I think it is necessary to step on the ball, look at the court, organize the game, and above all else, continue to promote basic safety measures.
How will it be all next year?
We think that in many ways we are going to continue working remotely and virtually. Many of these changes that we have implemented will be part of a new normal. We are developing a new plan for the coming year based on three fundamental aspects. In the first place, our Vice President Grand Master Trevor Nicholls is generating changes in the administration of our institution, thinking of a traditional organization, but more competitive, more attractive and adapted to this new normal. Secondly, we have thought about a dynamic training system, and for this we have developed a distance training platform www.taekwondoworkshop.com for teachers and instructors and regarding the sports area, training for leaders, referees, coach and competitors. The first training meeting is scheduled for the month of May and will be exclusively for teachers. Within the ITFPLAY LIVE sports platform, which is in charge of Master José Maidana, they are working on the organization of the Asian Championship scheduled for the first months of 2021 and we are studying the possibility of organizing the first ITF World Championship this year.
