Pionero del Taekwon-Do en Paraguay

Desde 1975 Orlando María Valle marca el camino a seguir en el país guaraní. A los 5 años comenzó la práctica del Taekwon-Do y nunca dejó. Hoy en día ve cómo crece el arte marcial en el país que cada vez suma más ciudades: Asunción, Ciudad del Este, Encarnación, Villarrica y próximamente en Campo 9, de vuelta.

¿Cómo es la estructura del ITF Paraguay?

Contamos con una Asociación que se denomina Asociación ITF del Paraguay. Tenemos un presidente, un vicepresidente, tesorero y un administrador general. Así concluimos en una asamblea que maneja la parte de Taekwon-Do y la administrativa. Es una actividad que empezó con una sola academia en abril del 2003 y hoy en día aloja 17 integrantes con 6 instructores muy activos. Estos instructores tienen sus alumnos que enseñan en las ya antes mencionadas academias.

¿Cuál es la fortaleza del TKD en Paraguay?

Diría que la palabra clave es el trabajo. Nos estamos enfocando más en la formación de instructores a partir de los 14/15 años de edad. Con estudios terminados de secundaria, para que puedan proyectarse en la Universidad y ahí ver un mejor desempeño para nuestro Taekwon-Do ITF. También otra clave en materia de la docencia son los niños, basarnos especialmente en los niños. Tenemos un Taekwon-Do Infantil que nos ayuda bastante para que nosotros, los instructores, podamos entrar en la familia de nuestros alumnos y colaborar un poquito en la educación del niño, en cuanto a respeto, disciplina. Tener un método, un modo en que el niño se sienta cómodo y desenvuelto frente a los adultos.

En materia deportiva, ¿cómo fueron los ya casi 20 años de la Federación?

Gracias a Dios tuvimos buenos resultados. Tenemos varios campeones mundiales. En el último Campeonato de Buenos Aires, obtuvimos 3 medallas de oro, 4 de plata y 2 de bronce. Después hemos participado de todos los campeonatos del mundo que se realizaron en la Argentina, en donde también obtuvimos medallas de oro y de plata. Siempre nos fue bien, tanto sea en lucha como en rotura de potencia. Estamos teniendo una pequeña falta en las formas, pero yo creo que vamos a mejorar eso a medida que vayamos teniendo más participaciones.

En la última parte del año 2020, en los primeros 2 torneos vía zoom no nos fue tan bien. Pero en el último torneo Panamericano conseguimos 7 medallas. Estamos muy contentos en cuanto a materia deportiva, siempre estamos en el podio de medallas, tratando de seguir los pasos de los grandes del Taekwon-Do de nuestra región y del mundo.

How is the structure of ITF Paraguay?

We have an Association called the ITF Association of Paraguay. We have a president, a vice, treasurer and a general administrator. Thus we conclude in an assembly that handles the Taekwon-Do part and the administrative part. It is an activity that started with just one academy in 2003-04 and today it houses 17 members with 6 very active instructors. These Instructors have their students who teach in formerly academies.

What is the strength of the TKD in Paraguay?

I would say that the keyword is work. We are focusing more on training instructors from 14/15 years of age. With completed secondary school studies, so that can be projected in the University and there see a better performance for our Taekwon-Do ITF. Also another key in teaching are children, based especially on the children. We have a Children's Taekwon-Do that helps us a lot so that we, the instructors, can enter the family of our students and collaborate a little in the education of the child, in terms of respect, discipline. To have a method, a way in which the child feels comfortable and comfortable in front of the adults.

In sports, how were the almost 20 years of the Federation?

Thank God we had good results. We have several world champions. In the last Championship of Buenos Aires, we obtained 3 gold medals, 4 silver and 2 bronze. Then we have participated in all the world championships that were held in Argentina, in where we also obtained gold and silver medals. We always did well, whether in struggle as in power break. We are having a little lack in the forms, but I think we're going to improve that as we get more shares. In the latter part of 2020, the first 2 tournaments via zoom did not go so well for us. But in the Last Pan American tournament we got 7 medals. We are very happy about sports matter, we are always on the medal podium, trying to follow in the footsteps of the Taekwon-Do greats in our region and the world.

¿Cómo llevó la Federación el año 2020 con la pandemia?

Lo que más nos afectaron fueron los primeros 4 meses, más que nada en el interior del país. No se podía trasladar la gente, la realidad es que no había buena conexión. Pero a partir de Septiembre en adelante, los gimnasios del interior del país empezaron a enseñar de nuevo, con clases particulares de 2 alumnos en casa.

Fue realmente muy lindo lo que pasó después, porque así como a muchos al principio le fue mal, después les fue muy bien porque fueron aumentando esa cantidad de alumnos particulares de 2 a 7, 15 o hasta 25. Los alumnos que estaban inscriptos seguían desde algún dispositivo móvil la clase. Fue satisfactorio, pero a la vez sacrificado para los instructores de taekwondo, con 12hs de trabajo continuo.

¿Qué se proyecta para el 2021?

Nosotros estamos planeando hacer clases mixtas. O sea mitad presencial, mitad zoom. Ya que para nosotros en el 2021 todavía no se va a erradicar este virus, va a quedar entre nosotros y vamos a tener que aprender a convivir con él. Desde la Asociación les estamos comunicando a los instructores que el modo nuevo de dar clases va a ser ese.

¿Y en cuanto a lo deportivo?

Por intermedio del GM Néstor Galarraga, que nos da todo su apoyo, participaremos de todos los torneos que se organicen a través de la Asociación Argentina. Acompañaremos ciento por ciento. Es una manera de estar todos juntos apoyando a nuestro TKD ITF, sea en Argentina, Paraguay, Brasil, Uruguay. EN How did the Federation handle 2020 due to the pandemic?

It was really very nice what happened later, because like many at the beginning it was bad, then they did very well because they increased that number of private students from 2 to 7, 15 or up to 25. The students who were enrolled followed the class. It was satisfactory, but at the same time sacrificed for the taekwondo instructors, with 12 hours of continuous work.

What is projected for 2021?

We are planning to do mixed classes. In other words, half face-to-face, half zoom. Since for we in 2021 still will not eradicate this virus, it will remain among us and we will having to learn to live with him. From the Association we are communicating to the instructors that the new way of teaching is going to be that.

And… As for sports?

Through GM Néstor Galarraga, who gives us all his support, we will participate in all tournaments that are organized through the Argentine Association. We will accompany one hundred percent. It is a way of being all together supporting our TKD ITF, be it in Argentina, Paraguay, Brazil, Uruguay.
