ABOUT US The International Community School, Abuja, is a Christian international school which was founded in 1998 to provide an international curriculum education for both expatriates and the Nigerian community. The school is governed by an Advisory Board responsible to the Board of Directors. An active PTA provides support and assistance to the school. The staff and students of the school represent about 35 countries of the world. ICS graduates presently are either working or furthering their education in the US, UK, Canada, Asia, Africa and Europe. MISSION STATEMENT The mission of the International Community School, Abuja, an internationally accredited Christian school with a warm family atmosphere, in partnership with the entire school community is to provide an environment where our students discover and achieve their optimum potential, acquire social and moral values, develop a positive self-image and collaborate in an internationally diverse community. This will be achieved by providing an enriched American curriculum with highly skilled, committed faculty in a continuously improving technological learning environment.

FACILITIES ICS Facilities include 52 air–conditioned classrooms, three science labs, two computer labs, three libraries, four halls, a gymnasium, cafeteria, two music rooms, nurse’s clinic, three activity rooms, a print center, ESL room, three staff rooms, separate playgrounds for early years and elementary grades, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, swimming pool as well as a boarding house for grades 6-12.

BOARDING HOUSE In 2017, ICS opened its boarding house to students from Grades 6 to 12. As a Christian school, the boarding house provides an environment and activities that enable boarders to know Christ and grow in their faith. We believe in creating a place that produces globally-minded individuals in an internationally diverse environment that focuses on human relationships and an outstanding education. These crucial elements are mentioned in the educational goals and mission statements and are reflected in everything we do for our boarders here at ICS.

ACCREDITATION & MEMBERSHIP ICS is fully accredited locally, by the Middle States Association (MSA) and Council of International Schools (CIS). The school is an active member of the Association of International Schools in Africa (AISA), the Principals’ Training Center (PTC), the Academy of International School Heads (AISH) and Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).
