WELCOME On behalf of Isleworth Golf & Country Club, we welcome you to the 17th Isleworth Collegiate (formerly known as the Tavistock Collegiate Invitational). This event brings together the finest collegiate teams in the nation for three days of competitive golf, but always in a spirit of “mutual respect” and with great friendships developed over the years. We again thank our hosts, University of Central Florida and West Virginia University, along with coaches Bryce Wallor and Sean Covich, for all of their support and energy in helping us to make the experience of this event rival that of a PGA TOUR event. There is always that great mix of competition on the course and hospitality off the course and in the past, the experiences have included Orlando Magic games, Q&A with Arnold Palmer and Blue Man Group, just to name a few. This year, back by popular demand, we have arranged a fun outing to Andretti Indoor Karting & Games. As one of the world’s leading club communities, Isleworth continues to be guided by the Lewis family’s ambition for Isleworth to define “informal elegance” that demands excellence in every aspect of the Club. The Isleworth golf experience and excellence will continue to be a defining element of the Isleworth Collegiate event and is why the community remains the home to dozens of today’s leading TOUR professionals. The list of Collegiate participants who have gone on to win TOUR events is growing each year and now features over 100 victories. Watching both the U.S. and British Opens this year, it really highlighted the status of this event, with both winners being previous Collegiate participants and two others finishing in the top six. Thank you to the Members, hosts, sponsors and volunteers for their commitment to college golf. The entire team at Isleworth welcomes you. Enjoy the tournament!

A TALE OF TWO OPENS Former Collegiate standouts make their mark on both the U.S. and British Open leaderboards in 2021
The Isleworth Collegiate has seen a plethora of former participants become trailblazers on the PGA TOUR, winning Majors and gaining worldwide notoriety. This past year further emphasized that fact with both the U.S. and British Opens, whose champions were Jon Rahm (Arizona State) and Collin Morikawa (California), respectively. In addition, the leaderboards boasted additional Collegiate standouts, Harris English (Georgia) and Jordan Spieth (Texas). The Isleworth Collegiate continues to see up-and-coming golf talent go on to have successful careers on tour and we look forward to celebrating future victories.

MEET THE HOSTS It is our pleasure to have our previous host schools, University of Central Florida (UCF) and West Virginia University (WVU), return to co-sponsor another successful year of collegiate golf. The Isleworth Collegiate has been an instrumental tournament for both schools to build upon their golf programs and provide opportunity for individual and team growth. It is tournaments like these that prepare players for their future golf careers.

GOLF PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
GOLF PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
• The UCF Knights enjoy one of the top training venues in the nation within the UCF Golf Practice Facility, a 2,880-square-foot facility equipped with hitting bays, video analysis systems, a player’s lounge and locker rooms. • Isleworth Golf & Country Club serves as the home course for the Knights. Isleworth measures 7,544 yards with a slope of 142 and a rating of 77.5 and was originally designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay with a redesign by Steve Smyers in 2003. • In addition to winning the 2019 Isleworth Collegiate, UCF won the NCAA Regional in 2008 and 2017 and made NCAA Finals appearances in 2012, 2013, 2017 and 2018.
• West Virginia University re-established men’s golf as a varsity sport in 2015-2016 after a 30-year hiatus. • The Mountaineers earned a team at-large bid in the 2019 NCAA Tournament (Louisville Regional) and an individual at-large bid in 2021 (Mark Goetz, Ball State Regional). • The Mountaineer golf program reached their first-ever top 25 ranking back in 2019 after their top 5 finish at the Gopher Invitational. • WVU claimed their third straight Invitational victory in April of 2021.

FRONT NINE The front nine at Isleworth tests the mightiest of players, rating two strokes tougher than the back nine. Holes 1 through 5 are characterized as the most difficult stretch on the course, and of the devilish first five holes, the opening hole is the only realistic birdie chance. Few have been able to play the second and third holes under par, and these two holes continually yield more bogeys than any others on the course. Many golfers have seen four or five shots easily disappear on this stretch of holes.

BACK NINE
The back nine is less menacing than the front nine in terms of difficulty but requires a little thought and effort to overcome strategic hurdles, including severe slopes and multiple-level greens. Nowhere does the course come more alive than the 11th, known for its thousands of colorful flowers and shrubs. The 14th and 15th are nearly as picturesque, with views of Lake Butler, the biggest of all the lakes in the Butler Chain. The 16th is the last real chance for a birdie before reaching the pressure-packed 17th and 18th holes, which call for both accuracy and length and present two of the most challenging greens on the entire golf course.
