Free Classes: Free classes include English as a Second Language, High School Diploma (HSD) and High School Equivalency (HSE/GED).

The Language Skills for Hospitality class, students will be taught supplemental English vocabulary related to the culinary field. Students will be assessed and given opportunities to perform specific tasks to determine their mastery of skills

The Math Lab allows students the opportunity to brush up on their math skills It is designed for students who may need additional support for their High School Diploma math assignments and/or to develop confidence for their GED Math computer exam Students needing support in basic math practice are also welcome.

Lit Club: Literature for Adult Learners - Tuesdays, 11:45 AM - 12:45 PM

The Lit Club is designed for students who want to explore reading, engage in discussion while improving their reading and conversation skills It can be a great way to enjoy books, make friends, and challenge your mind

High School Diploma -Independent Study - By appointment with Instructor

This High School Diploma course is an online version for students who may live far away and have commitments that do not allow them to come on campus. The course content is the same as the in-person format and designed to be for independent learners.

Gardening Saturdays

In collaboration with Sustainable Seaside, Resource Conservation District of Monterey County, the Blue Zones Project and the Green Cadre of the Monterey County Workforce Development Board. Suggested donation: $10/class

The MAS Community Garden was created to bring people into a community to grow and learn together The Saturday Garden classes offer something for the basic gardener to get growing as well as the seasoned gardener to expand their learning.

NEW to the garden this Spring is an opportunity to rent a raised bed and belong to a network of people with a vision to be more sustainable, learn more about their food source and engage with other gardeners and raised beds around them MAS students and Seaside residents will have priority, but the opportunity is open to all peninsula residents

Interested in a Career in Healthcare? The Certified Nursing Assistant Program may be for you! Class schedule includes theory, lab and clinical The schedule is as follows:

Week 1-5: Theory

Monday through Friday | 8:00 AM - 12:10 PM in Room 9 at Monterey Adult School.

Weeks 6-10: Clinical

Monday through Friday | 7:00 - 11:10 AM Clinical, hands on experiences at a local skill nursing facility.

Fee: $1,500 includes student workbook, fingerprinting, class and clinical instruction.
