Lismire National School

Kids celebrate Lismire Team, visit graveyards, and enjoy Maths week, all with a side of spook!

With another very busy term in Lismire National school, the children enjoyed many activities during the term. We were delighted to have nine children starting and wish them every success in our school. The children in 5th and 6th class had a very busy few weeks with an historical visit to Kilmacow Graveyard accompanied by the wonderful historian Raymond O’Sullivan.

A visit from IRD Duhallows’ Mike O’Connor was also enjoyed and the children were delighted to learn about fresh water ecology. They did very well in the Scoil Mhuire European Quiz and a special mention to Cillian, Ryan, Ben, and JJ who came second in their category. It was an honour to be able to participate in the Mission in Lismire Church, and the children did us very proud with their beautiful singing and mass participation.

We were also delighted to welcome members from the winning Lismire team with their two winning cups!

Finally, there is a long standing tradition of a great Halloween Dress-Up day, and again this year, the children had wonderful costumes, many of which were homemade. Well done to all who won prizes on the day!
