Happy Birthday, Timmy! By PAT FLEMING
Sliabh Luachra Musician The Rock Bar was hopping on Wednesday the 20th! The living legend himself, Timmy O’Connor, was celebrated with a surprise birthday party. Timmy is the oldest musician in the area, and at 87, he’s still going strong! He’s still composing and playing, and with that, he teaches us that older style of music. It’s a window into the past, right back to the famous Tom Billy Murphy, back to well before recording was accessible. Timmy and his compositions have appeared on my own recently released album, and no doubt will appear in more to come. A fantastic night was had by all. Happy birthday, Timmy, and thank you for the tunes!
