The Lee Valley Enterprise Board have once again planned to make Christmas in Macroom a wonderful experience with its very own Macroom Shopping Voucher this is all part of our shop local movement. We realise that a large number of consumers are looking to support local and more significantly the people that make our communities what they are. Evidence is that people want to purchase closer to home so this new voucher scheme will offer the opportunity to do this throughout the year. The Macroom Shopping voucher is a perfect gift for Christmas, Birthdays, Weddings, Confirmation, Communions and also ideal for businesses and employers who want to reward their staff or customers this Christmas, so please consider this option and support local. Businesses and employers that reward their staff by way of incentives will also find the Macroom Shopping Voucher at very suitable option. Under the Revenue Commissioners’ “Small Benefit Exemption” scheme, employers and employees can benefit from a reward of up to €1000 in value completely tax free each year. This is exempt from Income Tax, Universal Social Charge and employee & employer’s PRSI. Macroom Shopping Voucher is an ideal way of using the Small Benefit Exemption to reward employees Tax free, even if the employee is receiving other Taxable benefits, whilst helping support the local economy. Where to Spend your Voucher The vouchers will be accepted and redeemed by the many Lee Valley Enterprise Board Members businesses exhibiting the members stickers all throughout the town and surrounding area. So if it’s a present you need, a bag of coal or timber, a meal in one of the restaurants or coffee shops, something for your pet or just use it for groceries then this is a most versatile voucher. Annual Christmas Free Draws
The two Annual Christmas Free Draws with €1,000 in Macroom Shopping Vouchers to be won will take place on the 8th and 22nd of December 2023. Free entry tickets available from the Lee Valley Board members businesses, so please support them and receive your free entry.
Macroom Christmas Market The Annual Christmas Market will be held in Macroom on Friday 1st Dec 2023 from 6pm to 8pm. Featuring arts, crafts, food, kids entertainment and carousel. The 2023 Flower of Macroom Aoife Coleman and Cllr Ted Lucey will do the formal switching on of our magnificent Macroom Christmas Lights at 7pm. Johnathan Casey will have music in the Square from 6pm – 8pm. So come along and have an enjoyable evening in town.
Raising Voices For Victims of War
On Sunday 10th Dec at 7pm in St. Colemans’s Church Macroom the Lee Valley Enterprise Board are hosting a night for all the Choirs in the area to join us in “Raising our Voices for Victims of War”. This already promises to be a unique event with 10 local choirs signed up, and more yet to join. If your choir would like to part take please contact Ann at 087 2755080 or email lventerpriseboard@macroom.ie Admission is free, there will be a donation box will be at the event, with all funds raised going to charities that support the victims of the terrible wars in the world this Christmas.
Remember there’s two hours free parking in Macroom Town for December. This along with the piped Christmas music throughout the town centre, all making for a very enjoyable experience to shop local, and a great place to meet up friends and family in one of the restaurants or lovely coffee shops.
