Banteer Wins Pride of Place

In its 21st consecutive year, the Pride of Place Competition acknowledges the work being done every day by communities all over Ireland. At the Awards in Armagh, Banteer Community Groups won the All Island Pride of Place award for the Community Wellbeing (Holistic) section. Judging took place on Tuesday 1st of August with the community showcasing the various community projects developed with a video presentation, tour and Q&A sessions. County Mayor Frank O Flynn and Councillors Bernard Moynihan, Ian Doyle and John Paul O Shea attended the event as well as Maura Walsh IRD Manager to support the local community. The award is the culmination of years of hard work by local voluntary groups, working closely with various partners including IRD Duhallow, Cork County Council, local TDs and public representatives, various Government Departments, local businesses and the local community.
