Clear focus on deburring cross holes Within the framework of the X-BORES program Heule develops solutions for the automated deburring of intersecting bores. Modern components increasingly have more complex geometries and are made of a new materials and material combinations. Furthermore, the demands on the deburring quality, the process capability and the efficiency that have to be met are rising continuously. Existing
technologies soon reach their limits. In addition, the deburring by means of a defined cutting edge in a chip making process brings up major advantages. The variety of combinations of intersecting bores is tremendous. Due to the singularity of the problems, as an experienced problem solver the company offers customer-optimized solutions based on four different tool systems: COFA-X, SNAP-X, CBD, COFA. ‹
The main bore is a central bore where several cross bores lead in. The cross bores usually have various diameters that lead into the main bore in different angles. The SNAP-X tool penetrates the central bore and deburrs the cross bores leaving sharp bore edges.
As the name suggests, bores with an identical or almost identical diameter cross each other. This category also includes bores with very steep penetration angles and interfering edges that shield the surface to be deburred indirectly. The COFA-X System together with today‘s machine capabilities opens up new machining possibilities.
Beside the classic oil bore this application category covers bores with a very flat penetration angle. The CBD tool penetrates the cross bore and deburrs the bore intersection in an absolute process-safe manner. The axial working method also allows the machining of very complex intersecting bores such as toothings or steps.
