APPRENTICE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

MRAEL's Apprentice Management Program (AMP) was developed to provide another option for businesses wishing to take on apprentices and trainees.

The Apprentice Management Program allows your business to remain the legal employer of the apprentice or trainee while still accessing the expertise of MRAEL’s apprentice management team

Some of the benefits of the Apprentice Management Program include:

Clients remain the legal employer and retain eligibility for Government financial incentives, subject to eligibility criteria

Services are flexible and allows clients to decide how much assistance is required from MRAEL’s highly skilled and experienced apprentice management team

MRAEL provide pre commencement eligibility checks on apprentices, providing an overview of possible financial incentives and relevant Government funding available

Completing apprenticeship paperwork

Arranging the RTO induction and coordinating off the job training

Scheduled 6 weekly visits to review training progression with apprentice or trainee and your business

Manage internal and external rotations

Monthly management reports including planned absences, rotations, off the job training and progress of training and performance

Scheduled 12 weekly performance appraisals

Keep you informed of your duties and obligations as an employer of an apprentice or trainee

The Apprentice Management Program is ideal for those businesses who would like to employ an apprentice or trainee themselves, but think they may need a little help along the way, or simply do not have the time to spend managing the apprentice or trainee and coordinating the training delivery.

RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION

MRAEL has implemented an automated recruitment process which is facilitated through our website and administered by MRAEL’s specialised Apprentice Management Software, Workforce One.

This enables MRAEL greater efficiencies in the process and also allows for cost synergies to be passed on to your business Utilising this process, all current apprenticeship and traineeship vacancies are advertised on MRAEL’s corporate website, where prospective applicants can review position details, including type, location and any relevant selection criteria

Applications for all positions are facilitated directly through our website, ensuring candidates can complete the process with as much ease as possible.

Advertising

Advertising will be facilitated by MRAEL Marketing material/content can be supplied by MRAEL or Tutt Bryant. Online advertising platforms used include the MRAEL website, MRAEL Facebook, and Seek At the end of the advertising period, MRAEL will complete the shortlisting process (2 weeks) and provide Tutt Bryant with a list of shortlisted applicants including resumes, cover letters, supporting documents, aptitude testing results and phone interview notes

Candidate Applications

Candidate applications facilitated and managed by MRAEL will be required to supply the below to form a complete application:

Cover Letter stating why they are interested in applying for the position

Up to date resume

Two referees

Most recent school report Pass in English and Maths* If completed school within the last 2 years

Completion of Aptitude Testing: Literacy & Numeracy Aptitude Testing

Phone Screening and Shortlisting

All candidates that submit a completed application and live within the local position area (stipulations such as this to be finalised with Tutt Bryant) will receive a phone screened by MRAEL

Face to Face Interviews

MRAEL will compile a shortlist of recommended candidates One the shortlist is provided, face to face interviews will be conducted by Tutt Bryant. An MRAEL representative can participate in the interviews, if preferred

MRAEL's Recruitment Team can assist in scheduling the interviews (including providing confirmation notices to candidates, if required)

Verbal Offers

Tutt Bryant will advise MRAEL of the preferred candidates for position upon completion of interviews and assessment centres. Candidates selected will be contacted by MRAEL and advised they have progressed to a pre employment medical assessment

Pre-employment Checks

Pre employment medicals are generally completed by the legal employer to ensure any reviews or updates are sent accordingly In the instance that MRAEL will coordinate these medicals, any specific business paperwork and preferred providers will be provided to MRAEL Medical appointments can be booked in advance and candidates will be advised at the Assessment Centre of the pre determined dates. *Costs associated with medicals are at cost and on charged back to Tutt Bryant

Reference Checks

Reference checks will be completed for preferred shortlisted candidates. Two work references will be completed for each candidate and provided to Tutt Bryant Where two work references are not available, personal references will be accepted.

Final Integration

Once final selections are made, Tutt Bryant will provide written offers and provide employment paperwork to successful candidates. MRAEL will commence the sign up process with the allocated MRAEL Field Officer who will then arrange for the AASN and RTO sign ups Specific onboarding requirements will be discussed and finalised between Tutt Bryant and MRAEL.

AUSTRALIAN APPRENTICESHIP SUPPORT NETWORK (AASN)

MRAEL and Mas

Since 2015, MRAEL’s ACE Apprenticeship Centre has held Australian Apprenticeship Support Network Contracts in Queensland

From 1st February 2020, at the commencement of the Australian Government’s new contact arrangements for the Australian Apprenticeship Support Network, MRAEL has partnered with Mas, a fellow AASN Provider already delivering services in Victoria, South Australia, New South Wales, Western Australia and Tasmania. Like MRAEL, Mas is also part of the IntoWork Australia group of businesses.

Together, MRAEL and Mas brings a greater platform and improved service experience for businesses, apprentices, trainees and job seekers, with capacity to deliver consistency in service provision on a national scale. Collectively, MRAEL and Mas already service nearly 80,000 unique employers across Queensland, delivering AASN services to support their apprenticeship and traineeship needs.

MAS will deliver AASN services as part of the Mas Experience Consortium.

Some of the benefits of the collaboration between MRAEL and Mas include:

Provides updates on new funding, AASN contract changes or any relevant industry changes;

Build relationships with State Training departments to ensure we across all state regulations and processes;

An experienced and knowledgeable team of apprenticeship and traineeship staff, including Business Consultants, Career Development Consultants and Mentors and Counsellors;

A centralised Customer Solutions team to provide all back end administration, claims assessment and administration, and maintenance of electronic records; and

A consistent and centralised suite of tools, strategies and processes that will support management and monitoring of an individual through the entire Australian Apprenticeship lifecycle (i e from precommencement to completion)
