TRUSTYOURSELF
Staring at blank walls and feeling overwhelmed about where to start? Don't worryit is called an "art collection" for a reason.
You don’t have to buy “it” all at once! Unlike furnishing a living room, where you need a sofa and set of chairs to make the room feel complete – you don’t have to put art on every wall to make a big impression.
Start at your front door and pretend you are entering your home for the first time. What do you see? Where do your eyes land? This should be a key place for something on the wall.
Look left and right – where do your eyes fall? Dining room wall? Home office? Kids playroom. Your eyes tell you where to place the art. The room informs the type of art you might want in the space.
You don’t have to buy “it” all at once.
Art is not just for the walls.
Art is not just for hanging on the walls. Beautiful pieces can create a lot of interest by resting on a bookshelf.
Fill the shelves with a mixture of art, books, photos, and sculpture creates visual interest and can tell a fun story of the places you have been and the things you love to do.
Shelf art also make great gifts! Petite in nature, this type of art also comes with a lower price point making it easy to "stock pile" a couple from your favorite artists to give to friends and family for special occasions like birthdays, mother's day and happy little surprises.

ARTTELLSASTORY
How an artist sees the world changes on a day to day basis. So, when they sit down to mix their colors and to create a beautiful piece of work -- they are pulling from all their experiences -- all the things that inspire them.
The energy they pour into the piece remains in that artwork forever. And that is often what we are attracted to when we see something we love.
Each piece of art is truly one of a kind.
Take a peek behind the art with Kellie Newsome
Kellie considers herself a forever student - of life and art. When she was in college she took every art class available and loved the combination of structure and freedom provided through each experience. Kellie internalized this polarity and shared the same structure and freedom with others while traveling with a paint company teaching thousands of people how to create with a professional grade acrylic.
"It really taught me to slow down, embrace and celebrate every different style and technique. It helps me to this day when I'm painting in my studio. Observing and tweaking all the little motions and movements. All these things are a part of my story and a part of the way I create".

THE PROCESS
For Kellie, each piece of art starts each with research. "I do a deep dive into photos, books and direct observation of life. I spend hours integrating my life and observing all the little beautiful things to inspire me".
Sometimes it's all about cows or tigers or flowers and sometimes it's just about how the light hits certain colors. When Kellie paints, the first stage is a loose representation of shape and lines. The goal is to create movement and energy in the first layers. Then Kellie adds transparent layers to create depth and interest in each piece.
Kellie tries to paint everyday to maintain her creative flow. And like all of us multitasking moms, each day is different, at times limiting when she can get in to the studio. "I spend a lot of time painting in my head, but that means most times when I walk into the studio, I already know exactly what I want to paint!"
The artist process is as unique as each piece of art.

THECOLLECTION
Kellie thoughtfully transfers the beauty of wildflowers from their organic, sometimes haphazard growing places to the canvas. Whether working large or small, Kellie is able to capture each delicate moment. The fragile stem adorned with a small punch of petals -- defining each one -- delicate and strong -- airy and grounded. We love how she transforms something seasonal into a permanent snapshot of time.
Always searching for the right way to celebrate their beauty, Kellie pulls inspiration from floral photographers and designers while incorporating some of the wildflowers she sketched and collected as a child. Kellie strives to to capture the natural beauty of each wildflower with depth -- layering each one with delicate lines to capture their structure and elegance.
The arrangement in each painting is intentionally open wide, full of light and air -symbolizing hope and gratitude. Celebrating something we cannot fully understand on our own - the beauty of nature.
"Flowers are my first love".
"Everything inspires my work! My family, my pets, my garden, and the seasons! Everything that buzzes around me in my world comes through my work!
Spring is probably the strongest inspiration every year. Spring is full of bright colors and new delicate growth! It's a beautiful time of year to get inspired".
