Report ISS Foundation Michael G. Sarr, Secretary/Treasurer ISS Foundation

The members of the ISS Foundation are preparing to review the applications for Travel Scholars for the WCS 2019 in Krakow, Poland. As in previous years, the ISS/SIC and IATSIC will use the same, updated application forms which are available on the ISS Foundation website (IssFoundation-ISSF.org). The number of travel scholarships available will be at least 6 and hopefully more. Please

remember that the application needs to be filled out completely and candidate’s need to be 40 years old or less and to have finished with their surgery training. Emphasis will be given to scholars from the developing world and especially those involved in educational activities. Also please note that these scholarships are also open to anesthesiologists. Other activities that the ISS Foundation have been involved in this past year include funding to BSI for several outreach educational programs put on in Asia and to IAES for their outreach programs as well. The ISS Foundation encourages all member societies to develop outreach programs in the developing world that will fulfill the mission of the ISS Foundation,

i.e. to provide education of surgeons in the developing world. As always, the ISS Foundation is in need of donations to suppor t its mission. Please strongly consider a donation for these worthwhile endeavors. Respectfully submitted Michael G. Sarr Secretary/Treasurer ISS Foundation
