The Preparation of the Church for the Rapture - Part XXXII

Summary of the President’s Message

The Sunday Bible School was held live on April 28, 2024, directly from the Mahanaim of Domingos Martins, Espírito Santo, with the participation of pastors Gedelti Gueiros and Gilson Sousa.

Pr. Gilson Sousa’s Message:

We greet all the brethren with the peace of the Lord Jesus!

We are beginning the Sunday Bible School. The topic to be discussed is the Church and its Mysteries, Prophesied in the book of the Song of Solomon.

Pastor Gilson Sousa presented the responses from various brethren to the questions posed and shared various experiences related to the Sunday School. Pastor Josias Junior also shared a few testimonies regarding the children in the Accessibility Group.

Pr. Gedelti Gueiros’ Message:

I greet you all with the peace of the Lord. Let’s answer the questions presented.

Question

Reading Song of Solomon, chapter 1, verse 5, in the expression: “...lovely...as the curtains of Solomon”, make the prophetic

correlation with what is written in Song of Solomon, chapter 1, verse 4, in the expression: “... the king has brought me into his chambers...”. Identify this action in the Church of today, from the aspect of fellowship with the Holy Spirit.

Answer: What makes the church lovely is that it penetrates the mysteries revealed by the Holy Spirit. The chambers are related to fellowship. The curtains reveal the mystery that lies beyond them, so the church goes beyond the letter and what is written. The Holy Spirit is the one who unveils the mysteries. Salvation is progressive and access to the mysteries is through the action of the Holy Spirit and not by force.

“[...] The king has brought me into his chambers [...].” Song of Solomon 1:4

“I am dark, but lovely, O daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.” Song of Solomon 1:5

The verses speak about grace. The church finds grace (that’s why it’s lovely) before the Lord; through this grace, it enters the mysteries of eternity. The world does not know these mysteries

because it has not accepted grace. The grace that is upon the church needs to be understood and lived because in it are the secrets of God’s operation. The Gospel is not Christianity, as Christianity today does not need the Gospel because it understands that it has the human and philosophical answers necessary for a man’s life.

However, philosophy and theology applied to the Gospel have no value because they do not transcend. To transcend is to live a future life, an eternal life. To transcend is to go from death to life. So, the resurrection is a transcendence. He who transcends will not remain in the dust of the earth but will go to eternity with God.

The Curtains of Solomon

Solomon refers to the Holy Spirit. In this fellowship, the curtains open. They are moments that, after accepting the Lord Jesus, you find the way. The se-

cret is to walk on this path.

In your journey in this life, the Holy Spirit is responsible for taking you to places that you previously did not know. This path has its curtains that will open as the church delves deeper into the knowledge of the Lord Jesus, unveiled by the Holy Spirit. The early church struggled to discover this path (where do you feed your flock?).

“Tell me, O you whom I love, Where do you feed your flock, where do you make it rest at noon [...].” Song of Solomon 1:7

These are the mysteries of God which are ever-present in the life of the church. With each seminar or message brought to the church, something different happens because everything is under the action of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the cur-

tains are opening every day. The Holy Spirit is interested in the believer’s concern with revelations because they are necessary for their walk with God. Jesus is the way, and we must walk in it. And when we are on this path, the Lord gives us something different daily.

“[...] This is the way, walk in it [...].” Isaiah 30:21 Man, with his reasoning, cannot reach the project of eternity. That is why Jesus sent His Holy Spirit to guide the believer in His presence.

Question

Reading Song of Solomon, chapter 1, verses 7 and 8, identify the expression that guarantees to the Church that it will not go astray. Make the prophetic application of this expression.

Answer: It is on the path of the flock that the Shepherd is found. Whoever is in Jesus does not go astray or take the wrong road, they do not wander. The Church doesn’t go on the wrong the path, if it is with the Shepherd.

“Tell me, O you whom I loves: Where do you feed your flock, where do you make it rest at noon. For why should I be as one who veils herself by the flocks of your companions? If you do not know, O fairest among women, follow the footsteps of the flock, and feed your little goats beside the shepherds’ tents.” Song of Solomon 1:7-8

At that time, the church was not an institution. There was Judaism, paganism itself, with its temples and idols. The church had none of this. Few had converted. The society of that time was agro-pastoral, and there was a physical distan-

ce between homes and farms. It was challenging to gather groups.

There was neither government nor prophetic guidance that could bring people together. People fled from religion, from paganism and from the government itself. Those who had an experience with the Lord were killed, like Polycarp. They went to the stake, loving the Lord Jesus. It was an expression used in Song of Solomon:

“A bundle of myrrh is my beloved to me; That lies all night between my breasts.” Song of Solomon 1:13

Where was the way? Was it with Peter? With Stephen? No! One was imprisoned, the other stoned and killed. If you are with Jesus, you are on the way. Jesus called you to His kingdom.

Question

Identify in Song of Solomon, chapter 1, verse 11, the prophetic meaning of the expressions: “...ornaments of gold...” and “... studs of silver...”. Why is there an emphasis?

Answer: The power of redemption for the church to face persecutions. In the desire to serve, the Church needs to be protected.

“We will make you ornaments of gold with studs of silver.”

Song of Solomon 1:11

The silver studs represent redemption, and the gold ornaments represent power. The church was walking under this blessing of redemption by the power of the Blood of Jesus. It was firmly grounded in the project of redemption, a project of power.

Observation: the studs are

crimps, showing that redemption is firmly grounded, set, in the power of God. [Pastor Gilson]

The horses of Pharaoh’s chariots refer to the Church. The church has a mission. Its responsibility is very well rooted in this project. Redemption brings with it the power of God. The gold is the wealth of this project. The wealth was not in man but in what the Holy Spirit was doing. The reference in Song of Solomon showed that the battles of the church are only won by the power of the blood of Jesus.

May the Lord bless us.
