Houston Methodist Graduate Medical Education
Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship The Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital is a three-year program. The program accepts two fellows per year for a total of six fellows. The learning environment provides exposure to a diverse patient population in an internationally renowned tertiary referral center with a high‑volume lung transplant center. Trainees rotate in the medical ICU as well as surgical, neurosurgical and cardiovascular ICUs. Pulmonary consult rotations are supervised by academic and private practice pulmonologists. In addition to standard procedures, opportunities are provided for performing advanced interventional techniques such as rigid bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound, electromagnetic navigational bronchoscopy, endobronchial valves and coils, bronchial thermoplasty, stents, and percutaneous dilatational tracheostomy. Training in the third year is tailored to the career goals of the individual fellow. Education is provided in a collegial atmosphere with medical students from Texas A&M, residents and other subspecialty fellows.
