Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.
At St. George’s, we prioritise a smooth and structured educational journey from the start. Pupils joining our Foundation Stage follow our Early Years curriculum before transitioning to the Cambridge International Primary Curriculum in Year 1. This curriculum continues through the school, culminating in IGCSEs at the end of Year 11, providing a cohesive and clear learning pathway for all pupils.
In Year 12, pupils begin their twoyear IB Diploma Programme, fully prepared by the comprehensive Cambridge curriculum and IGCSEs. Meanwhile, our Language Planning service collaborates with families to assess each pupil’s language profile and support their linguistic ambitions.
In consultation with academic staff, pupils can choose between
two different language pathways. We offer the choice between an English route, where pupils learn French as a second language, and a bilingual route. We also provide the tools for pupils to continue to study their native language.
For French and English language beginners, we provide a comprehensive language acquisition programme.
At St. George’s International School, our pupils gain access to unparalleled university opportunities, both in Switzerland and across the globe. Guided by our expert University Counsellor, they receive personalised support at every stage of the application process, paving the way to admission at the world’s most prestigious universities.
At St. George’s, we harness cutting-edge education technology to deliver personalised learning experiences for pupils, while streamlining communication for teachers and parents. Our advanced EdTech solutions, a decade ahead of the curve, enhance every aspect of school life. The META mixed reality programme boosts pupil memory retention, while the Lesson Planner saves teachers valuable time, and our Parent Portal provides a comprehensive view of each child’s educational journey—all in one place.
We nurture independent, engaged learners, preparing them for the next steps in their academic journey.
The Early Learning School (Crèche) at St. George’s welcomes children from 18 months to 3 years, offering a nurturing, bilingual environment with a family feel. Entry to the Foundation Stage begins at age 3. Visitors are often struck by the calm, focused atmosphere of the Chalet, where children are truly at the heart of everything we do.
The personalised attention, respect, and care for each individual, coupled with clear aims for progression, allows every young child to receive the best possible start to their educational journey.
We work closely to guarantee a smooth transition from our crèche to the school and introduce the latest creative innovations in early years education. Our pathway flows seamlessly from Junior School to Middle and through to Senior School, with each stage building on the learner’s progress from the previous level, or from other educational systems.
We develop and nurture individual talents and personalities so that children can best develop academically, socially and creatively.
The Middle School is an essential period between Junior and Senior School where pupils learn key skills in a fun and creative environment.
Our Middle School International Cambridge curriculum is designed for pupils from any language background, promoting bilingual English-French competencies. This international programme provides a clear progression pathway with a modern pedagogical approach, offering both choice and flexibility while cultivating key Cambridge learner attributes: Confidence, Responsibility, Reflection, Innovation, and Engagement.
A strong pastoral framework supports all learners from Year 6 to Year 9, helping them grow into confident, resilient, and well-rounded individuals.
A CURRICULUM THAT NURTURES GROWTH AND EXCELLENCE
The Cambridge curriculum fosters bilingualism, ensures continuity from Junior School, and encourages creativity and collaboration for effective learning. Lessons are grounded in real-life learning, making subjects more relevant and allowing pupils to blend traditional methods with practical applications in their everyday lives.
We provide a rounded approach that encourages all pupils to challenge themselves and develop their confidence in the three pillars of the Inspired Group’s vision: the academic, sporting, and artistic fields.
Our pupils also gain essential skills through the study of International Citizenship, while our innovative Life Skills programme empowers them to become versatile individuals with intercultural awareness and a strong sense of altruism.
Middle School provides an early opportunity to develop responsibility and leadership skills, encouraging pupils to take an active role in its daily organisation. Pupils can take on roles such as Pupil Council members, Monitors, School Ambassadors, or House Captains, allowing them to actively contribute to school life while upholding its visionary and modern ethos.
We provide a rounded approach that encourages all pupils to challenge themselves and develop their confidence in the three pillars of the Inspired Group’s vision: the academic, sporting, and artistic fields.
Our Senior School offers education for pupils in the final four years of their secondary schooling.
From Year 10 to Year 13, our pupils are offered multiple opportunities to fulfil their individual potential and develop their talents both academically and personally.
The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character—that is the goal of true education.
In Years 10 and 11, our broad and balanced International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme allows pupils to hone their areas of interest. Delivered in a nurturing and supportive environment, it incorporates creative arts and sport, reflecting our holistic approach to education.
Our International Baccalaureate Diploma and General Diploma programmes in Years 12 and 13 offer a wide range of subject options and combinations. Pupils meet university entry requirements while growing into principled, versatile individuals with a commitment to global citizenship and a passion for learning.
The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is a high-profile qualification provided by the University of Cambridge International Examinations Board (CIE).
The IGCSE is designed to be taught as a two-year course. Exams are taken by pupils in Year 11 (US Grade 10) and are equivalent to the UK GCSE and Cambridge International GCE O-Level examinations.
The Cambridge IGCSE curriculum provides an excellent foundation for a range of higher-level courses, including the IB Diploma. Recognised by schools and universities, Cambridge IGCSE courses are designed to allow pupils to achieve high levels of academic and personal skills. They develop pupils’ confidence and a sense of responsibility while encouraging reflection, innovation, and engagement. The curriculum is flexible, giving pupils the freedom to select the subjects that suit their ambitions.
Founded in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1968, the International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) has developed four different educational programmes. The IB Diploma Programme is a challenging two-year curriculum aimed at pupils aged 16 to 19. This qualification is welcomed by leading universities around the world. At St. George’s, the IB Diploma Programme’s main language of instruction is English.
The Pre-Diploma Programme is a one-year course designed for pupils aged 15 to 16 who want to build a solid foundation before embarking on their two-year Diploma. It includes the study of subjects from the following groups: Language, Foreign Language, Humanities, Sciences, Mathematics & Technology, and the Arts.
The IB Diploma pupils develop their academic and personal strengths by:
• Asking challenging questions
• Learning how to learn
• Developing a strong sense of their own identity and culture
• Building communication skills and understanding of other cultures
Physical Education is compulsory and all pupils follow a Life Skills course.
Pre-Diploma pupils are formally assessed throughout the year. The majority of them take an IGCSE exam in English, Maths, and French.

• Previous two years of academic records in English, if you are seeking admissions for a child in Year 1 or higher
• Immunisation records
• Passport photograph
Finally, you will need to request that the Academic Dean or Headteacher of your child’s current school complete the Academic Recommendation Form.
After the application is completed, we invite each prospective pupil to meet with the Principal and the admissions team for a visit. During the visit, the pupil and their family will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about St. George’s International School. Applicants will then be invited to sit our entrance assessments, which are usually taken online.
On occasion, we understand that it is not possible for a child relocating from abroad to visit the school. In these circumstances, a video call interview can be held and the candidate may sit the tests online.
The admissions committee reviews all applications once they are completed and a decision is made. When your child is offered a place at St. George’s International School, you will receive:
• An acceptance letter
• An enrolment agreement
• An invoice for the admission fee
If you have any questions before submitting the application, we invite you to visit us or contact our admissions team. Let us help you begin your child’s extraordinary journey at St. George’s.
